Each month, the Summer Grace Foundation puts care packages together for hospitalized children with cancer. This month, they will be given to kids at INOVA Children’s Hospital on Easter.

The children we support are going through more than most can really even imagine. These little trinket bags may not seem like much, but to a small child fighting cancer, they spark momentary joy, provide a positive distraction, and remind them that they have a community thinking about them and rallying behind them. 💛🎗️

Sending a little love to pediatric patients at . Instead of making Valentine cards and participating in class parties this week, they’re facing hospitalization and the many challenges of childhood cancer. These care packages serve as a reminder that they are loved by their community. 💌💘❤️💕💝

Today, we had the joy of delivering toys to the amazing children at Inova Children's Hospital. Each toy is a small reminder that they are loved, supported, and never forgotten — even on the hardest days.

This Mother’s Day, we put our love into action by creating 160 care packages for the incredible mothers of children fighting cancer in 4 local pediatric hospitals. These women embody strength, grace, and unwavering love every single day.

We hope these small tokens bring comfort and remind them they are seen, supported, and deeply appreciated.

Last Sunday, we joined the DC Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation and other organizations in a joyous holiday event for local childhood cancer families. The children's faces lit up as they collected gifts and goodies from each organization, took photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, and then headed to Bull Run Festival of Lights. Since the Summer Grace Foundation focuses on providing financial assistance for families in need and musical instruments for pediatric hospitals with existing music therapy programs, we presented each family with a gift card and ukulele. We were inspired by the numerous families who shared that music therapy and the instrument their child received in the hospital was a source of strength and joy and “the very thing that got them through!” It was wonderful to see familiar faces, meet new families, and hear that we're having a positive impact!

Receiving the devastating news that your child has cancer is hard enough, and the subsequent physical demands can be overwhelming, but when financial strain is added to the mix, it can become almost unbearable. The Summer Grace Foundation is here to offer a lifeline, providing vital support to help bridge the gap and meet essential needs. We are deeply grateful for the generous donors who empower us to make a meaningful difference in the lives of childhood cancer families struggling to make ends meet. We are thrilled to be able to provide $15,000 of financial assistance to local childhood cancer families this year!
