Catholic Medical Center

Catholic Medical Center Located in Manchester, NH, CMC's mission is to provide health, healing and hope to every individual.

Catholic Medical Center (CMC), a nonprofit regional health system, with a commitment to delivering the highest quality and most advanced healthcare to patients across New Hampshire. CMC is the home of the nationally-renowned New England Heart & Vascular Institute, rated among the top cardiovascular programs in the country. Our doctors were the first in the state to perform a mechanical heart/left ventricular assist device implant and first in New England to implant the WATCHMAN™ for atrial fibrillation. CMC was also one of the first hospitals in New Hampshire to establish a joint venture with independent medical staff members when it became a partner in the freestanding Bedford Ambulatory Surgical Center and imaging center. CMC’s birthing unit, The Mom’s Place, was the first hospital in the country to have a neonatal unit based on "couplet care.” Our nationally-accredited Breast Care Center was the first in the state to use contrast enhanced mammography and SAVI SCOUT® localization for breast surgery. With primary care practices that care for the very young to the young at heart and our dedication to community outreach programs, CMC is helping to foster a healthier community, everyday.

This Heart Month, we're celebrating a team whose photo represents 𝟏𝟎𝟎+ 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐜 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞.

Our program began in 1986, with Dr. Westbrook joining in 1989. With the addition of Dr. Green and Dr. Karpinski - and supported by a team of established physician assistants and a nurse practitioner - our legacy of excellence in cardiac care continues to grow. Decades of dedication, innovation and hands-on surgical expertise have shaped a program that patients and referring physicians can trust.

Experience matters. Outcomes matter. Your heart deserves exceptional care. ❤️

🩺 If you’ve had a checkup recently, you may have noticed your doctor included a depression screening. With depression becoming more common across the U.S., these questionnaires are now a routine part of many appointments. They’re designed to help doctors spot signs of depression early so patients can get support sooner.

Understanding how these screenings work can make the process feel less intimidating. Learn more about what doctors look for and the treatment options they may recommend to help you feel better: https://bit.ly/4755mlM

During Random Acts of Kindness Week, our incredible volunteers brought smiles throughout Catholic Medical Center - visiting patients in the hospital, the Emergency Room and even visitors - handing out carnations to brighten their day.

These small gestures carry a powerful message: you are seen, you are cared for and we're grateful you chose CMC. 💙 Thank you to our dedicated volunteers for sharing compassion in action and helping make our hospital feel a little brighter for everyone who walks through our doors.

Amanda, Unit Director for E100, has led her team with exceptional resilience, grace and determination in her pursuit of excellent patient care. While we were saddened to say farewell to her at CMC last week, we are proud to celebrate her internal promotion within HCA. Amanda will now be leading an Emergency Department at another local HCA facility.

Her hard work, dedication and commitment to excellence have truly paid off. This well-deserved opportunity reflects both the strength of her leadership and the incredible growth opportunities available within HCA. We are excited to see her continue to thrive in a role she is so passionate about in the ED.

CMC extends its heartfelt gratitude to Bishop Peter A. Libasci, Diocese of Manchester, who commissioned a hand carved statue of Our Lady of Einsiedeln as a personal gift in celebration of our year of growth since joining HCA Healthcare. The statue was processed by the faithful from the Cathedral of Saint Joseph in Manchester to its permanent home in the hospital’s main lobby.
