Today is World Autism Awareness Day. Together, we are supporting children with autism and their families through our CMF Kids initiative, which helps open doors to lives of maximum independence and success in the community.

And a special hat tip to the donors who make Logan’s Giving Fund for Autism possible, which helps children access critical treatments and services. Together we have provided over $200,000 in family resource awards to support their success.

Last week, Ned Olney, President and CEO of Crotched Mountain Foundation, stopped by the New Hampshire seacoast to present a special $15,000 check to Dr. Zach McLaughlin, Portsmouth School Superintendent. This represents a groundbreaking CMF Kids partnership project with the Portsmouth School Department.

Thanks to CMF Kids - powered by YOUR incredible generosity - Portsmouth will expand its trauma-informed practices district-wide, with a focus on students with complex needs.

In addition, CMF Kids is supporting a partnership between licensed clinical psychologist Dr. Alison Roy and the district. Dr. Roy will provide staff training and consultation.

"This initiative will build educator capacity to recognize and respond to the impacts of trauma," says Melissa White, Executive Director of CMF Kids. "This will focus particularly on students with complex learning, behavioral, and social-emotional needs."
