With the recent tragic event in Buffalo, NY I want to offer support and service to the BIPoC community. Thursday May 19th at 8PM EST I will be offering a guided meditation. This deep relaxation meditation will support in the grounding and restoration our nervous systems. Stress reduction is one our paths towards resiliency. Also, I have recruited my colleague Harry Turner and a fellow therapist. He and I will be available for answering any questions regarding strategies to self-care prior to the meditation. A free five-part training is starting this Friday to help up to 100 behavioral health care workers and leaders to meet the social and cultural needs of diverse populations.

Nicole Sublette, one of the mental health counselors running the training with Southern New Hampshire Area Health Education Center, hopes it can help clinicians to recognize how their own privilege, power and biases can impact the care they provide for their patients.

Feeling incredibly blessed🙏🏾❤ this workshop that my colleague and I created is almost at full capacity. This has journey been years in the making, as I noticed inequities in the behavioral health care. The discrimination my clients faced and even myself as a professional was incredibly harmful and heartbreaking. I wanted to make a change. Through networking and creating a community was able to make it a reality. I was able to secure a grant to make it free for participants. If you are doctor, nurse, clinician social worker, organization, or helper working with diverse communities please feel free to attend. 10 CEUs offered. We only have very few spots left.
