If you’ve recently switched from a conventional antiperspirant to a cleaner deodorant, you might notice a bit of a transition, like more odor or sweating at first. Fret not! 😜
Conventional antiperspirants often use aluminum compounds to temporarily block sweat glands. Once you stop using them, your body returns to its normal function, which is to sweat! Because of that, things can feel a little more noticeable for a short time while your body adjusts.
Some people experience stronger odor or feel like they’re sweating more in the beginning. This is temporary and doesn’t mean the deodorant isn’t working. Odor actually comes from bacteria breaking down sweat, not the sweat itself!
Staying consistent, keeping the area clean and giving your body time can make a big difference. Some people also like using a gentle clay mask or charcoal cleanser during the transition to help refresh the skin. Sweating is a normal and important process, and not everyone goes through a “detox” phase. If it does happen, it usually settles within a few weeks!
