🚨 SCAM ALERT – PLEASE READ 🚨

We have been made aware of a scam phone call circulating in our community. Individuals are posing as representatives of our hospital (VECM), claiming that your pet has been traumatically injured and urgently needs emergency surgery. They demand immediate payment over the phone and insist that you must pay before you are allowed to see your pet.

⚠️ These calls often come from blocked or private numbers, and the contact information they provide is NOT ours.

Please know:
✅ VECM will never deny you access to your pet.
✅ We do not call and demand payment before allowing you to see or approve care for your animal.
✅ If you are ever unsure, hang up and call us directly at (603) 666-6677.

If you receive a call like this, do not provide any personal or financial information. Report it to your local authorities.

Your trust and your pet’s safety are our top priorities. Thank you for staying vigilant. 🐾

🌟🐾 Vet Tech Appreciation Week | October 13–19, 2025 🐾🌟

This week, we pause to celebrate the quiet heroes — the ones who work behind the scenes, through long hours, busy days, and tough moments — all for the love of animals.

💙 To our Veterinary Technicians:

Thank you.
Thank you for showing up every day with hearts full of compassion and hands ready to heal.
Thank you for caring for every animal as if they were your own.
Thank you for the love you pour into this profession — even on the hardest days.

We see the extra time you spend comforting a scared pet, the patience you show when things get hectic, the care you give in every bandage, every injection, every gentle touch. 🐾

We see the early mornings, late nights and overnights, the skipped lunches, holidays, the emotional toll.
We see you advocating for patients who can’t speak for themselves.
We see your joy when an animal recovers — and your heartbreak when they don’t.
We see the way you carry all of it — with strength, humility, and grace.

You are nurses, caregivers, educators, cheerleaders, protectors, and problem-solvers.
You are the steady head in surgery, the calm voice in chaos, the warm hug when a pet parent needs comfort.

🩺 But more than anything — you are the heart of our veterinary team.
Your knowledge, your empathy, your tireless effort… it all matters more than words can express.

So this week, and always, we want you to know:
We notice.
We appreciate.
We are grateful beyond measure.

🌈 Thank you for loving every animal that walks through our doors.
Thank you for being their voice, their advocate, their safe place.
And thank you for making this world better — one patient, one paw, one heartbeat at a time.

Let’s give our amazing vet techs the love they deserve. Drop a ❤️, 🐾, or a message below to help us thank these incredible professionals who give so much of themselves to the animals we all love.

The National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA) is proud to announce that October 12–18, 2025 will be celebrated as National Veterinary Technician Week (NVTW).
This year’s theme, “Paths to Success: Shining a Light on Veterinary Technician Stars,” highlights the many unique journeys of Credentialed Veterinary Technicians (CrVTs) and the mentors, educators, and colleagues who help guide their way.

Veterinary Technicians are the heart of the veterinary healthcare team. They serve across diverse settings—including general practice, emergency and specialty care, classrooms, laboratories, research, industry, and public health—bringing expert knowledge and heartfelt compassion to every role. Their dedication not only strengthens the profession but also lights the path for animals, clients, and colleagues alike.

🚨 We’re seeing a slow rise in canine upper respiratory cases 🚨

Over the past few weeks, we’ve noticed an increase in dogs presenting with coughing, sneezing, nasal discharge, and lethargy. While many cases are mild, some dogs can develop more severe symptoms and may require emergent attention.

If your dog is showing any of the following signs, it’s best to have them evaluated by a veterinarian:
🐾 Persistent cough
🐾 Nasal or eye discharge
🐾 Sneezing
🐾 Decreased appetite or energy
🐾 Difficulty breathing

What you can do:
✅ Keep your dog home and away from other dogs if they’re coughing or unwell.
✅ Avoid dog parks, boarding, or grooming until symptoms resolve.
✅ Stay up to date on your dog’s vaccines
Over the past few weeks, we’ve noticed an increase in dogs presenting with coughing, sneezing, nasal discharge, and lethargy. While many cases are mild, some dogs can develop more severe symptoms and may require medical attention.
As always, we’re here 24/7 if your pet needs emergency care. ❤️🐾

⚠️ Albuterol Toxicity in Dogs ⚠️

Inhalers can be life-threatening if chewed or punctured!

Albuterol (also called salbutamol) is a common medication used in human asthma inhalers. While safe for people in the correct dose, just a few licks or a single bite of an inhaler can be extremely dangerous for dogs.
