🌊 Mindset Monday - April 20

Our heads can be a dangerous place to stay too long.

Overthinking
Assuming
Playing out worst-case scenarios
Talking ourselves out of the right next move

We’ve all been there.

Recovery teaches us to pause and check it
Is this true?
Or is this just fear, ego, or old thinking?

Feelings aren’t facts
And thoughts aren’t always truth either

Sometimes the best move is simple
Talk to someone
Get perspective
Take action anyway

AUD "Alcohol Use Disorder" remains the most common substance use disorder, but gets far less funding and policy initiatives than other substance use disorders.

Let's do better

Alcohol use disorder accounts for more than half of all substance use disorders in the U.S.

Yet treatment rates remain low.

We can—and must—do better.

🎉🐾 Happy 3rd Birthday to our beloved furry resident! We are celebrating Belle, who lives at Into Action Sober Living with her dad, our peer leader, Mike. 🐾🎉

Pets like Belle play an incredible role in recovery housing. The presence of a pet helps reduce stress, encourages healthy routines, and reminds us all of the importance of connection and responsibility. Animals have a special way of lifting our spirits and supporting emotional healing.

Our recovery homes—and our hearts—are better thanks to loyal friends like Belle. ❤️

🌊 Mindset Monday - April 6

Most of us didn’t struggle because we didn’t know what to do.
We struggled because we avoided looking at what was really going on.

Step work teaches us something simple but uncomfortable
Honesty comes first.

Before change, there has to be awareness
Where am I off?
Where am I reacting instead of responding?
Where am I still trying to control everything?

Not to beat ourselves up
But to get honest enough to grow

Because once you can see it clearly
You can actually do something about it

👉 Where in your life do you need a little more honesty right now?

🌊 Mindset Monday – April 6

We used to wait for the big moment.
The breakthrough. The motivation. The perfect time.

But recovery doesn’t work like that.

It’s built in the small stuff
Getting up when you don’t want to
Making your bed
Showing up to a meeting
Taking a suggestion instead of fighting it

That’s where the shift happens.

Not all at once.
But over time, those small actions start to change everything.

👉 What’s one small thing you can do today that moves you forward?

🔥 18 Months Strong – Mike 🔥

Mike just hit 18 months, and one thing is clear—humility has been his foundation. The coolest part of his journey has been watching the relationships in his life rebuild, especially with his daughters.

Mike shared it best: “The hardest thing I had to do was swallow my pride and ask for help… but I did it.”

That moment of HUMILITY changed everything.

Today, he’s proud of the man he’s become and and we are too.

Stay humble, Mike. 👊

🌄 Mindset Monday – March 30

The Decision That Changes Everything

Step 3 isn’t about perfection.
It’s about a decision.

A decision to stop playing director.
A decision to stop rehearsing outcomes.
A decision to trust that we don’t have to force what’s meant to unfold.

Surrender doesn’t mean we stop taking action.
It means our actions come from a different place.

Less ego.
Less fear.
More willingness.

When we align our will with something greater than ourselves, we walk differently.
Steadier. Clearer. Freer.

What would happen if today you made that decision again?

Faith Over Control

Fear lives in control. We MUST manage every detail, or it will fall apart!

But recovery has shown us something different. The world works better when we float with the current instead of swim against it.

Step 3 isn’t a one-time decision.
It’s a daily posture. Its to understand that our serenity corelates directly to the amount of control we are willing to give up.

Today, choose faith over control.

What would giving up control look like for you right now?

HEARTFELT thanks to the folks at Heartfelt Recovery for sharing their experience, strength, and hope with us tonight. The message was loud and clear - "IF WE CAN DO IT, SO CAN YOU!" The "transmission line" is what we call the message from someone who has walked in our shoes. Sometimes its only the voice we can hear.

Thank you to wonderful community partners WorkPath Staffing for hosting, who open their doors for us every day, including late on a Sunday night!

❤️

🌅 Mindset Monday – March 16

Not My Way — A Better Way

We used to think surrender meant losing.

Now we know it means freedom.

Freedom from obsessing.
Freedom from needing the last word.
Freedom from carrying the weight of outcomes that were never ours to control.

Step 3 teaches us that we don’t have to figure everything out.
We just have to show up willing.

When we release “my way,” we make room for a better way.

What are you ready to turn over today?

🎉 Celebrating Alyssa — 2 Years Sober 🎉

Two years of sobriety is no small accomplishment, and Alyssa embodies real growth and resilience.

For the past two years, she shows up for herself day after day, putting in the work and proving that change is possible. Recovery is built in the small decisions, the hard days, the honest moments, and Alyssa has kept moving forward through all of it. Along the way, she has become a steady source of support and encouragement for the people around her. She’s always willing to lend a hand, share her experience, and show others that they do not have to do this alone. She has repeatedly pushed herself beyond her comfort zone, taking on new challenges and staying open to growth. Her willingness says a lot. It shows courage, humility, and a real commitment to living differently.

Through it all, she brings humor and light wherever she goes, reminding everyone around her that recovery can be filled with laughter, connection, and joy.

We are so proud of you, Alyssa, and grateful to witness your journey. Congratulations on 2 years — a beautiful milestone, and just one part of the amazing story you are continuing to write. 💙
