James “Tim” Timothy Cato, age 57, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at his home. He was born on Sunday, July 7, 1968 in Gainesville, Georgia to James Walter Cato, III and Barbara Sue (Johnson) Cato Persons. He was a truck driver.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife: Sharon (Day) Cato and his children: Crystal Derry and husband Bryan, Kristy McGrady and husband Mike; these nieces and nephews: Kate Mendez, Lori Ruprich-Duke, Neveah Ruprich-Couch, Victoria Day, Evelyn Day, Sarah Day, Saraia Trueblood, Salem Haddix, Amanda Day, Ashley Knight, Aalayah Ruprich, Issac Mendez, Jason Ruprich, Joseph Ruprich, Tyler Ruprich and Rowan Ruprich; Also surviving are these siblings: Anita Marie Cato Mendez and husband Vis and Patrick Walter Cato and his fur babies: Zoe and Dutchess.
He is preceded in death by his parents: James Walter Cato, III and Barbara Persons; and his fur baby: Snowball.
Funeral Services for James “Tim” Timothy Cato will be conducted on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 12:00 P. M. at the Couch’s Cemetery in the Burning Springs community. Tyler Ruprich and Sarah Couch will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Couch’s Cemetery.

Cinda Alice Owens Brand passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026 in Edmonton, Kentucky at her home. Cinda was 96 years old. She was the daughter of Beve and Maggie Smith Owens, the great great granddaughter of Richard Lucas. She grew up in Byron, Kincaid, Portersburg, Kentucky on her parents' farm. Growing up she loved going to church, either walking or riding the mule.

Cinda left Clay County when she was 28 years old, moving to the Chicago area. She worked for Nabisco for 30 years. Cinda always referred to herself as the “Cracker Packer”, because she operated a machine that packed crackers. She returned to Clay County frequently to visit family and friends.

Cinda is preceded in death by her parents: Beve and Maggie Owens and all of her siblings: Florie Owens, Eula Moore, Laurie Napier, Rachel Mayfield, Lee Owens, Beatrice Fields, Vernie Owens and James Owens.

Cinda out lived 10 nieces and nephews and has 10 nieces and nephews: Catherine Lair, Hubert Napier, Betty Randolph, Wilma Freels, Mary Helen Wietlisbach, Linda Bryant, B. H. Mayfield, Susie Roberts, Marie Williams and Jamme Garza.

She retired to Metcalfe County, Kentucky then moved to Clay County later building a house in Metcalfe County, Kentucky. She lived near a niece: Catherine Lair who she was close to. Cinda lived out her life in this house.

Services for Cinda Brand will be conducted on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 2 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Wayne House will be presiding. Burial will follow in the Manchester Memorial Gardens.

Lila Bowling, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at her home. She was born Wednesday, May 17, 1939 in Beverly, Ky to John and Bertha (Smith) Wagers. She was a factory worker and a member of 421 Pentecostal Holiness Church.

She is survived by her children: Jean Stidham, Lorene Stewart and husband James, Alan Bowling and Sharon Hatfield, Bleve D. Bowling and Jill Sizemore; her grandchildren : Cassandra Caldwell (Shannon), Christopher Caldwell (Janie), Toma Collett (Irida), Tonya Norris (Greg), Misty Sizemore, Christy Stewart (Tommy), Tabitha Evans (Hazel), Nancy Norman, Richard Bowling (Melissa), Whitney Bowling (Austin); her great grandchildren: Kaitlyn Sizemore, Gabby McDaniel, Tomika Collett, Christian Estep, Blair Bowling, Hailey Norman, Jayden Norman, Erica Collett, Roy David Collett, Makenzie Griffitts, Zachary Sizemore, Aaliyah Evans, Lexi Evans, Riley Bowling, Arianna Bowling, Elijah Jones and Elena Jones; her great great grandchildren: Kaiden Smith, Cassie Smith and Gabriel Smith and her daughter-in-law: Sandra Bowling.

Funeral services for Lila Bowling will be Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ralph Brown, Rev. Troy Gray, Rev. Bobby D. Holland, and Rev. Paul Mitchell will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Ledford Cemetery in the Red Bird Community.

Irene (Jones) Gibson, age 70, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2026 at her home. She was born Friday, January 7, 1955 in Manchester, Ky to Colonel and Dora (Roark) Jones. She was a member of the Manchester Church of God and she worked at Laurel Creek Nursing Home.

She is survived by her children: Melissa Neeley and Jennifer Gibson Woods; her grandchildren: Alexandria Wagers, Bradley Wagers, Taten Gibson, Alexis Gibson , Kelly Neeley and Trendon Neeley; her great grandchildren: Makendlyan Wagers, Haven Neeley. Also surviving is one sister: Lucy Roark.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Colonel and Dora Jones; her husband: Grant Gibson; her daughter: Marianne Wagers and her sisters: Ruby Stevens and Florence Jones.

Funeral services for Irene Gibson will be Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at 1:00 P. M. at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. George Davidson will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Gibson Cemetery in the Blue Hole Community.

Mason Forrest Green went back to God’s arms on Saturday, Dec 27, 2025 while being held in his loving parents’ arms. Mason was born unexpectedly due to a uterine and placenta rupture on Monday, December 8, 2025. Mason entered this world without a heartbeat but came back at 22 mins with the help of his angel Sherry T. NNP. Mason gave us the wonderful gift of time and touched so many lives throughout his short time with us. Mason enjoyed celebrating his first Christmas with his big brother Hunter, Grandparents, Uncle Chris and Aunt Sarah. He enjoyed many visits, snuggles, hugs, kisses, from family and friends who all love him deeply.
He is survived by his parents Adam and Rachelle Green, big brother Hunter Green, Great-Grandma Billie Jones, Great-Grandma Francis Lively, Grandparents Randy and Peggy (Jones) Green, Uncle Chris Lively, Great-Uncle Will (Carol) Jones, Bonus Aunt Brenda Petersen, Bonus Aunt Sarah (Woody) Hale and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and additional grandparents. Last but not least big sister “Daisy Puppers” Green who would not leave his side while he grew inside mommy’s belly.

Mason is proceeded in death by his Uncle John Green, Great-Grandpa Albert Lively, Great-Grandpa Clearance Jones, Great-Grandpa Billie Green, Great-Grandparents Wilson and Mildred Robbins.

Funeral services for Mason will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 2:00 P. M. at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Darrell Bargo will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Herd Cemetery in the Sibert Community.

With a heavy heart, I’d like to share that my beloved father, Orville Milton Burnette, passed away peacefully today, December 27th, at home, surrounded by love and care.
He lived a life filled with faith, kindness, and devotion to family and friends. His steadfast Christian faith and generous spirit touched everyone who knew him, and his legacy of love and caring for others will continue to inspire us all.
I am grateful for the many blessings he shared and the joy he brought into our lives. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
Orville Burnette, age 84 passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at his home. He was born on Tuesday, February 18, 1941 in Manchester, Ky to Walter Burnett and Belle (Thompson) Burnette. He was a member of the Mud Lick Baptist Church and worked in the coal mines for Shamrock Coal Co.
He leaves to mourn his passing his son: James Burnett and daughter-in-law: Abbie Burnette; his grandchildren: Kristen Baker and husband Charlie and Hannah Burnett; his great grandchild: Raegann Baker and a special other: Angie Burnett.

John Denzil Jones, age 81 passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2025 at his home. He was born Monday, October 23, 1944 in Manchester, KY to Colonel and Cora (Stevens) Jones. He was of the Baptist faith.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife: Lorraine (Gregory) Jones and two children: Terry Jones and Marcella Smith and Coy Howard; his grandchildren: Tara Smith and husband John, Brittany Abner and husband Donnie, Kayla Gabbard and husband Jeremy, Tyler Jones, Kelsey Boyd and his great grandchildren: Weston Abner, Wyatt Abner, Briley Griffitts, Kinsley Gabbard, Karlie Gabbard, Chase Boyd and Elijah Boyd; and a special friend: Zachary Smith. Larry White, age 85 passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025 at the Baptist Health in Corbin, Ky. He was born Tuesday, June 18, 1940 in Manchester, KY to Toleman and Helen (Bundy) White. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of New Home Baptist Church.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife since 1958, Nancy (Jones) White and three children: Perry White, Roy Glenn White, Sr. and William White; his grandchildren: Jennifer Storm, Brooke White and Emily White; his great grandchildren: Ivy Browning , Briar-Rose Black and Ally. Also surviving are two sisters: Mary Betty Calhoun and Carol Dobson.

Carlo Burns, age 91 passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025 at the St. Joseph Hospital in London, KY. He was born Monday, January 29, 1934 in Clay County, KY to Luther and Laura (Roberts) Burns. He was a member of Mill Street Church of Christ.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife: Catherine (Caldwell) Burns and his children: Charlotte Brewer and husband Ted, Carla Treadway and husband Scott, Sheila Hurd and husband Billy, Lisa Hamilton and husband Todd and Thresa Willoughby and husband Brent, 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister: Alma Maxie.

Lonnie Smith, age 60 passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at the UK Bluegrass Hospice in Lexington, KY. He was born Tuesday, January 26, 1965 in Clay County, to Orbin and Lena (Smith) Smith. He was a supervisor at Hardee’s and SuperAmerica and worked with the cable company. He was a member of Big Creek Holiness Church.

He leaves to mourn his passing is his wife: Renee (Ruth) Smith and one son: Joshua Smith and wife Amber; his grandchildren: Noah Smith, Makayla Philpot and Alexis Philpot. Also surviving are these brothers and sister: Raleigh Smith, Donald Smith and wife Ella, Ronnie Smith and wife Jackie, and Elaine Henson and husband Wayne.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Orbin and Lena Smith; his brother: H. E Smith and two sisters: Imogene Smith and Connie Smith.

He leaves to mourn his passing is his fiancée: Henrietta House; his stepfather: James Smith; his furry companion: Sissy; these children: Imojean Larae Sizemore (Devin), Lannie Rochelle “Punkin” Runion (Jeremy), Chasity Shyann Sizemore, Makyla Shyanna Nicole Sizemore; these grandchildren: Jaylyn, Presley, Jon-Logan, Shayla, Caroline, Elaina Jane, Maeleigh, Kouvr and granddogs: Guss and Jeffrey.
