WestBridge is a family-founded, private non-profit organization established in 2001, supporting the recovery of adults and their families experiencing mental illness with or without substance use. We are dedicated to evidence-based practices and integrating families, helping them to learn, communicate and become trusting partners in recovery. WestBridge has significant expertise in treating adults experiencing Schizophrenia Spectrum & other Psychotic Disorders (e.g. Schizoaffective Disorder), Mood Disorders (e.g. Bipolar Disorders, Major Depressive Disorder), Anxiety Disorders, and PTSD, with or without Substance Use. WestBridge offers the following programs:

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for All Genders:
Services are offered in an office setting to adults who can benefit from more support than traditional outpatient counseling can provide, yet do not need the intensity of a partial hospital, residential or inpatient program. Residential Treatment Program:
Our residential program is dually licensed by the State of New Hampshire for both mental health and substance use disorder treatment. It is CARF accredited and staffed 24/7/365. Programming is offered in a residential setting and the community. This program helps people experiencing mental illness with or without substance use, to begin or to re-establish healing. We provide an environment that is safe, homelike, comfortable and wellness-oriented. Community Integration Program (CIP):
Our community integration program (CIP) is based on the evidence-based assertive community treatment (ACT) model for adults and their families experiencing serious mental illness with or without co-occurring substance use. Services and frequency are individually tailored to the participant’s needs, with the potential to receive two to over 30 hours each week of comprehensive wraparound services provided in a combination of the community, participant’s home, and the office. Some distinctive features of both our residential and community integration program include a transdisciplinary team with psychiatry, "Meet and Greets" for prospective participants, supported education, volunteerism and employment, and an active alumni program WestBridge excels in helping adults experiencing mental illness with or without substance use who have not been able to obtain long-term recovery after prior treatment. Our independently verified treatment outcomes for men with co-occurring disorders are published in a peer-reviewed professional journal. WestBridge provides intensive outpatient program services and residential treatment to Veterans in the VA Community Care Network (CCN Region I) through a contract with Optum. WestBridge is located in Manchester, NH, 15 minutes from the Manchester Regional Airport, and approximately 1 hour from Boston, MA. We are near multiple post-secondary schools, employment, and volunteer opportunities.

Supporting Your Mental Health During the Holiday Season. In the 2003 holiday movie classic, “Elf,” the main character, Buddy, shares a particular fondness for the holiday season, “The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear!” No matter what traditions you celebrate this winter, not everyone shares Buddy’s enthusiasm for this season. While the holidays can be a time of celebration and joy for many, it also can be a period of stress, sadness, and loneliness for others—and sometimes can be particularly difficult for people living with mental health and substance use conditions. The “Happiest” Time of The Year: Tips for Managing Holiday Stress. The daylight has changed. In most areas, colder weather has swooped in. Many of us are turning to our favorite cozy activities: Curling up with blankets, sitting by fireplaces, burrowing into warm clothing, enjoying hot beverages, etc. It’s a time of year where many of us naturally slow down. But then, the holidays sneak up on us. When we would like to be resting, much like a hibernating animal, we find ourselves juggling work, shopping for gifts, participating in events to celebrate the holiday season, preparing for our kids’ winter breaks and more.

The holidays can magnify stress, family dynamics, and old patterns, making it easy to focus on what’s out of your control. The spheres of control help us sort life into what we can control, what we can influence, and what we need to let go, so we can spend our energy where it actually helps our physical and mental wellbeing.

"How to use nature to restore your focus, with Marc Berman"
By Big Brains Podcast, a production of the University of Chicago.
"We’re living in an attention economy—and most of us are broke. But what if the secret to restoring your focus, improving your mental health, and even reducing crime rates wasn’t found in an app or a pill, but in a tree? In this episode, we speak with University of Chicago psychologist Marc Berman, whose research on “soft fascination” and nature’s cognitive effects is reshaping how we think about everything from urban planning to depression treatment. From groundbreaking hospital studies to surprising results with plastic plants, Berman’s work uncovers the deep—and often invisible—power that natural environments hold over our minds and bodies.Whether you're a city planner, a parent, or just someone feeling mentally fatigued, this conversation may just change the way you think about a walk in the park." This week's WestBridge All-Staff gathering was a team and community-centered way to wrap up the year together. The Training Room was filled with conversation, familiar traditions, and small moments that make a team feel connected. Some of our staff favorites activities returned, a catered meal, a cookie swap, and a lively round of Holiday Feud. It was a great reminder that what makes this team click is real participation and the small traditions we build together. They end up meaning more than anything we could buy.
