Today, staff from the Day Program helped our IT expert, Kordell, tackle some IT projects at the Sunset location — including making all the printers voice-activated... or so they thought.

Needless to say, there were plenty of laughs and a great reminder to live one of our HIT Expectations: Embracing Change and Enjoying My Job!

"I've worked at HIT for about 6 years, and one of the reasons why I love working with HIT is that they are flexible and supportive, especially as a student. While in school, I can adjust my schedule each semester to fit my classes, and management was really understanding during busy times.

It made balancing work and school much less stressful because I never felt I had to choose one over the other. On top of that, the job itself is really rewarding. You get to build strong relationships and develop skills like communication and time management that actually help in school too.

Our very own Interventionist Jessica from the KIDS Program!

Tonight our staff had the chance to learn from the awesome Jessica Zuroff, and it was such a great training!

Jessica is an Early Interventionist with the KIDS Program serving the Beulah/Hazen area. She specializes in Early Childhood Special Education and has an Elementary Education Degree with concentrations in Kindergarten, Math, and Reading. She has owned and operated numerous daycares and preschools and is currently the owner of the Creative Learning Academy here in Hazen.

She spent the evening teaching our team strategies to help kids work through big feelings and challenging behaviors in positive, supportive ways. These are the kinds of tools that make a big difference in the classroom.

We learned a lot and are excited to start putting these new ideas into practice!

Our friend Gavyn came up with a fun way to get everyone moving—he created an exercise ball filled with different basic workouts! He’s been making his rounds around the building, challenging people to pick an exercise and do it with him.

No one at the Sunset location is safe—he’s already recruited day program managers, Quality Assurance, and nursing staff.
