Are all black spots considered to be cavities!!?

Well it depends…

🦷 Some cavities can be considered biologically “inactive” meaning the demineralization is at rest and the infectious process has stopped

🦷 Other cavities are considered “active” meaning the demineralization can lead to further destruction of the tooth

🦷 This is one reason why receiving routine examinations and annual X-rays are very important to help us diagnose and possibly treat teeth at certain stages of the caries disease process
