Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine
Epilepsy Fellowship Program

Northwell Health is seeks candidates for our ACGME accredited Epilepsy Fellowship Program starting on July 1st of each academic year. During the year of training, the fellowship program provides a broad and in-depth clinical experience in the medical and surgical management of seizure disorders and in the technical, interpretive, and clinical aspects of EEG. The epilepsy program is based out of three hospitals, all NAEC 4 level programs: North Shore University Hospital, the primary teaching site of the Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine; Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City; and Cohen Children’s Medical Center. The combined program includes 20 EMU beds, long-term monitoring and consultative services, active outpatient adult and pediatric epilepsy clinics, an active epilepsy surgery program, and a research program including both clinical and basic science endeavors. Didactics include a structured lectures series, clinical and scientific weekly conferences, journal clubs, case conferences, and research meetings.

For applicants who have already completed a Clinical Neurophysiology fellowship, the year will be geared towards advanced clinical cases, accelerated in-depth surgical training, and research endeavors. For those completing a pediatric neurology residency program, the fellowship will be tailored to include a greater degree of pediatric exposure.

Ideal applicants should be conscientious and reliable team players with good communications skills, a solid basic foundation in neurology, and a passion for taking care of patients with epilepsy.

Candidates must have successfully completed an ACGME or RCPSC accredited residency training program in neurology.
