Eating Healthy on a Budget Is Possible!

We know the advice to “eat healthy” can feel unrealistic when food prices are high and healthy options aren’t always accessible.

But small strategies like using frozen vegetables, buying beans or lentils, batch cooking, and utilizing community resources can make nutritious meals more affordable.

Healthy eating should be accessible to everyone.

Today we celebrate International Transgender Day of Visibility a day dedicated to recognizing the lives, achievements, and resilience of transgender people.

Created by transgender advocate Rachel Crandall, this day was established to highlight transgender voices and celebrate their contributions to society.

While visibility can be empowering, we also acknowledge that due to discrimination and safety concerns, not every trans person can or wants to be visible.

Today is about celebrating identity, promoting understanding, and supporting equality for all.

Telling People to “Eat Healthy” Isn’t Enough!

Health equity doesn’t start with advice it starts with access.

When communities face food deserts, economic barriers, and limited resources, simply telling people to “eat healthy” isn’t a solution.

Real change happens when we address the systems that shape health outcomes.

Let’s keep the conversation going.

Everyone Is Unique and So Is Getting Tested!

Your health journey is personal, but testing is something everyone should consider.

Everyone should be tested for HIV at least once in their lifetime!

Testing more frequently (about every 3 months) is recommended if:

• You have new or multiple partners
• You have unprotected oral, vaginal, or a**l s*x
• You don’t know your partner’s status
• A condom breaks during s*x

If you’re unsure about when to test, we’re here to help guide you.

What Are We Testing For and Why?

Testing is one of the easiest ways to protect your health.

Here’s why these tests matter:

• HIV – Knowing your status allows for early treatment and prevention.
• Hepatitis C – Can cause serious liver damage if untreated but is highly curable.
• STIs – Many have no symptoms, but early treatment prevents long-term health complications.

Getting tested is quick, confidential, and a powerful step toward protecting your health and your partners.

Why Does “Healthy Eating” Look Different Across Cultures?

Healthy eating doesn’t look the same everywhere and that’s okay.

Culture, tradition, local foods, community connections, and preparation methods all shape how people nourish themselves.

Food is more than nutrients it’s identity, history, and community.

Recognizing cultural diversity in nutrition helps create more inclusive and effective health education.

Did You Know That Generational Stress Can Impact Your Health?

Stress doesn’t just affect the moment it can impact generations.

Experiences of trauma, discrimination, and chronic stress can influence both mental and physical health outcomes, increasing risks for conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and immune system disruptions.

Generational stress is real and addressing it starts with awareness, compassion, and access to supportive resources.

Your health story matters.
