Tysha Osborne believes in providing an environment that is respectful, non-judgmental, challenging, and supportive. She approaches counseling by looking at the whole person (mind, body, soul) and how past experiences can influence the present. Tysha places a special emphasis on how to live in the moment, being gentle/kind on oneself, and how to draw on one's strengths. In addition, Tysha (when appropriate) uses a gentle sense of humor which her client's state make them "feel at ease". In describing her approach to therapy, Tysha tailors the therapy session according to the client's needs, but her main emphasis is on building a relationship. She provides to therapy to individuals dealing with abuse, AD/HD, anxiety, body image, depression, eating disorders, infertility, intrusive thoughts, emotional regulation, life adjustments, perfectionism, self-injury, self-worth, spiritual issues, suicidal thoughts, trauma and PTSD, weight concerns. Tysha is a graduate from Benedictine University (Lisle, IL) where she earned a Master's of Science Degree in Clinical Psychology and Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. She is a licensed clinical marriage and family therapist (Kansas). She utilizes evidence-based practices including EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness/Relaxation, Attachment theory, and Internal Family systems (IFS). When requested she provides Christian counseling for those interested.
