To my runner friends… your future self will thank you for starting yoga now!

Not because yoga makes you more flexible for the sake of being flexible, but because it helps you run better, recover better, and stay in the game longer.

Yoga builds strength in the places runners often overlook. It improves mobility in tight hips, calves, hamstrings, and ankles. It teaches body awareness, breath control, balance, and stability. It can help you move more efficiently, reduce nagging aches, and create space in a body that takes a lot of repetitive impact.

And yoga teaches patience.

The same patience it takes to hold a pose, breathe through discomfort, and stay present is the same patience distance running asks of us over and over again.

So if you’ve been putting it off, this is your sign.
Start now.
A few minutes here and there adds up.

Class description: Build your confidence and get back to the basics of your poses. Stretching your breath and body with longer holds. Neeka offers space and time to build internal heat and external heat with the room at a minimum of 75 degrees. Classes will include breath practices, pranayama and a groovy playlist to release the seriousness and webs of the week, to finish out strong, balanced and rejuvenated.

We have had a lot of questions about the upcoming Yoga & Run Camp (retreat) that we are hosting in Twin Lakes, CO this June. So I thought I would answer some of the most common questions. See above.

Bottom line: we want to build community in the mountains with great people, food, and fresh air. Whether you are running, hiking, napping… doesn’t matter. If you are into that, this retreat is for you!
