Reminder: Two sections of the Riley County Health Department will be closed for staff training this week. The Public Health Clinic (2030 Tecumseh Road) and Maternal and Child Health division (2101 Claflin Rd) will be temporarily closed March 11, 12, and 13.

These departments will open again for regular hours starting Monday, March 16.

All other divisions including Admin, Raising Riley, and WIC will remain open during this time.

Spring is just around the corner and with it comes the possibility of severe thunderstorms, high winds, floods, and tornadoes. Last year, Kansas saw 30 tornadoes impacting 24 counties with 0 fatalities and 0 injuries.

The 2025 Community Needs Assessment for Riley County is now open.

The purposes of this survey are: 1) to get your input on the quality of life in the community and 2) to identify the unmet needs in the community. Some questions ask you about your personal experiences in the community and some ask for your opinions about the community in general.

Anyone who lives in Riley County who is at least 18 years of age is invited to take the survey. The survey takes about 20-minutes to complete. You can start and stop the survey if you stay on the same device. Please try to complete the survey as incomplete surveys are not as useful as completed ones.

Questions cover topics associated with individual health and community health such as housing, transportation, nutrition, public education, older adults, youth, economic well-being, mental health, and physical health.Participation in the survey is voluntary, and your responses will be anonymous. While your participation is voluntary and confidential, all community input is valued.

2/5/2026 UPDATE: Boil Water Advisory Rescinded
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment lifted the boil water advisory for Hunters Island and Moehlman Bottoms water districts as of 9 a.m. Thursday, February 5. Water is safe to drink and no longer needs to be boiled. Thank you for your patience.
