When I shaved my head at 37, I didn’t know it wasn’t just about hair.

Turns out, it jumpstarted a process in me to shed layers and burdens I was carrying that did not belong to me.

Our bodies need slow change.

I was “fine” my whole life… until I wasn’t.

Anxiety didn’t show up loud and obvious.
It snuck in quietly—into my sleep, my thoughts, my body.

And I kept pushing through. Until I couldn’t.

Along the way of trying to dramatically change myself I learned one thing very clearly: healing isn’t dramatic.
It’s subtle. Daily. Unseen.

Did you know that your heart is speaking to your brain more than your brain speaks to your heart?

Always whispering two questions:
Am I safe or am I not safe?

That one answer shapes everything—your mood, your decisions, even your breathing.

But here’s the key: you can influence that message.

One simple tool is in the magic of 4 words.
Care. Compassion. Appreciation. Gratitude.

When we think of one of these four words your heart says: “I am safe.”
Right now, play along, will you?
Think of someone or something that you care for, have compassion for, appreciate, or are grateful for. Bring this to mind. See them/it. Feel yourself in their presence.

How does that feel?
Tune into what you feel. Really feel it.
When your heart feels safe, your whole nervous system follows.

The advice to “just quit sugar” used to make me roll my eyes. Like… HOW?
It's like telling a baby to get up and run before they can crawl.

I am calling all people who wish to take an active role in their own health care. My mission at Lotus HealthWorks is to promote and support an optimal level of health and well-being, for every human. I work with each individual, to diminish the overall stress load of the human mind, body, and spirit. This results in the availability of more mental ease and clarity, and simply, more joy.
