Day 7- Meet Maricar Chandler, LSCSW

Mari graduated from University of New England with her Master’s in Social Work and began her career in 2014, driven by a passion for helping others navigate life’s most difficult moments.

Her professional experience includes previously working in a psychiatric hospital and community mental health, where she served a diverse population of clients, including active-duty military, veterans, individuals struggling with substance use, and people across the lifespan—children, adolescents, adults, and older adults.

Mari’s calling to this work began early in life. While facing her own personal hardships, she discovered a desire to support others through theirs, ensuring that no one has to face challenges alone. This insight continues to shape her compassionate and client-centered approach to therapy.

Mari now provides EMDR therapy, helping clients process trauma and emotional distress in a way that is both structured and deeply individualized.

After relocating to Fort Sill, OK, Mari offers telehealth-only services, allowing clients to receive care in a flexible and accessible way.
She believes therapy is never a “one size fits all” process. Each person’s journey is unique, and Mari works closely with her clients to tailor therapeutic techniques that align with their specific needs, goals, and lived experiences.

Outside of her professional work, Mari enjoys unwinding with a good TV drama or action series and spending time watching her children play sports.

We’re grateful to have Mari as part of our team and the care she brings to the clients she works with every day!

Jessica has experience supporting clients navigating depression, trauma (including adjustment concerns and PTSD), anxiety, ADHD, ODD, and more complex mental health concerns such as Borderline Personality Disorder, Persistent Depressive Disorder, and Bipolar Disorder. She has also worked with veterans and geriatric clients, in addition to children, adolescents, adults, and families.

She is passionate about creating a supportive, compassionate, and judgment-free space where clients feel safe to heal, grow, and move forward.

We’re grateful for the care and dedication Jessica brings to our team!

Did you know that Andrews & Associates is one of the few places in the state of Kansas with therapists specifically trained in working with Problematic Sexual Behaviors (PSB)? We offer specialized treatment options, including group therapy and family therapy, to support both the child and the entire family system.

Here’s what we want you to know:
-Curiosity is normal.
-Coercion, force, secrecy, or large developmental age gaps are not.
-Early intervention works.

Children who display problematic sexual behaviors need structure, supervision, and therapeutic support — not labeling or panic.
When addressed appropriately, most children respond extremely well to treatment.

You don’t have to carry uncertainty alone. Early guidance can bring clarity, direction, and peace of mind.

Day 4- Meet Danesha Baldwin, LMSW

Danesha earned her Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Tennessee (Knoxville) and is licensed in both Tennessee and Kansas. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of West Florida — a foundation that launched her 17-year career in the social sciences.

Her professional journey began as a Probation and Parole Officer in Tennessee, where she quickly recognized a deeper calling to walk alongside individuals in a more restorative and therapeutic way. That calling led her into social work, where she has since served in outpatient mental health clinics (supporting both children and adults), inpatient behavioral health facilities for active-duty service members and their families, and correctional settings — all with a strong case management foundation.

Danesha has extensive experience working with individuals navigating PTSD, substance use, disabilities, and a wide range of mental health diagnoses. As a certified Master Resilience Trainer, she is deeply passionate about helping clients build strength, adaptability, and hope in the face of life’s challenges.

For the past decade, she has had the honor of serving active-duty service members, their families, and veterans through the Department of Defense. As a military spouse of nearly 20 years, Danesha brings not only clinical expertise but also lived experience to her work — allowing her to connect authentically with the unique pressures and transitions military families face.

When she’s not in session, Danesha loves cheering on her family at football and basketball games or getting creative in the kitchen — usually with her husband, son, daughter, and their English Bulldog close by.

Her depth of knowledge, dedication, and genuine care make her an invaluable part of our team!

Day 3- Meet Keturah Adams

Keturah Adams is in her third year as a Licensed Professional Counselor at Andrews & Associates Counseling. Born and raised in Manhattan, Keturah understands the transient nature of our community and recognizes the deep need for consistent, high-quality, and safe care.

Specializing in trauma, Keturah works with individuals navigating complex trauma, attachment wounds, betrayal trauma, and even trauma from previous therapy or medical experiences. She believes trauma is not only what happens to us, but also what does not happen for us — and that healing begins when we feel safe enough to explore our stories with curiosity rather than judgment.

Using EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Cognitive Behavioral strategies, she helps clients move from hypervigilance, shutdown, or self-doubt toward safety, regulation, and self-trust — walking alongside them as they reclaim their voice.

Fun fact: Keturah began her journey with Andrews & Associates as an intern before joining the team as a full-time clinician. Watching her grow from student to confident, trusted therapist has been such a meaningful full-circle experience for our practice.

Keep following along as we introduce the hearts behind the work!

Day 2- Meet Dr. Stephanie Wick, LCMFT

Stephanie Wick is the previous owner of Andrews & Associates Counseling, where she brought years of clinical experience and a deep-rooted commitment to the mental health and well-being of the Manhattan, Kansas community. A long-time resident, Stephanie is married and a proud mother of three. Raised on a small farm in North Central Kansas, she carries with her the values of resilience, connection, and hard work that shaped her upbringing.

Stephanie’s path to mental health care was deeply personal. After experiencing a profound loss in 1999, she felt called to shift her focus from Apparel and Textile Marketing to Marriage and Family Therapy—a decision that would ultimately define her life’s work.

Stephanie specializes in working with clients on issues related to faith, identity, anxiety, depression, couples and marital therapy, life transitions, grief and loss, military life, and finding purpose. She also enjoys supporting professionals who are struggling with Impostor Syndrome and workplace-related stress.

Her therapeutic approach is both holistic and practical, rooted in the belief that mental and relational health begins with strong foundations in nutrition, movement, mindfulness or prayer, and meaningful connection. Stephanie emphasizes the importance of building resilience—not dependence—through therapy. In her words, “True safety comes from knowing you can handle yourself in any space, not just the ones that feel comfortable.”

We’re grateful for the vision and leadership she brought and continues to bring to Andrews & Associates — and the lasting impact she continues to have on this community.

Stay tuned as we continue to share the hearts behind the work!

Behind every appointment, phone call, and schedule change is a real human who cares about your experience! These are the faces behind the work that keeps our practice running each day.

Our admin team is often the first voice you hear and the first face you see when you walk in. They help with scheduling, insurance questions, paperwork, and making the process feel less overwhelming — because starting therapy is a big step.

We’re grateful for the warmth, patience, and compassion they bring to our practice every day. They are a huge part of creating a space that feels safe and welcoming.

If you’ve interacted with our admin team before, you already know how lucky we are to have them.

Hi, it’s been a little while!

We’ve been quiet on social media, but very busy doing the work that matters most — supporting our clients behind the scenes. We wanted to pop back in, reintroduce ourselves, and reconnect.

We’re a therapy practice serving children, teens, adults, couples, and families. Whether you’re navigating stress, relationships, parenting, anxiety, or healing from the past, you don’t have to do it alone. Our focus is creating a safe, welcoming space where people can grow, heal, and feel supported through life’s challenges.

Moving forward, you’ll see more education, mental health tips, relatable moments, and practice updates here. If you’re new — welcome. If you’ve been here — we’re glad you stuck around!

Last month, our CAC was able to host MDT Forecast training to our MDT partners. We would like to send a HUGE thank you to Dr. Alisha Hardman & Lori Elmore-Staton for leading our group! It allowed our MDT to step into each other’s roles and gain insight into what someone else on our team does. Also, a huge thank you to CivicPlus for letting us use their space!

We couldn’t do this job without all of these team players!
