June is Wound Healing Awareness Month or WHAM!! Dr. Dattilo's office is amazing at what they do with arteries and veins, but his office also has an impeccable wound care side with his RN, CWCA, Kim Hatton. Kim has gained experience and knowledge in wound care from the past 15 years and became a Certified Wound Care Associate in 2011. Many wounds will heal on their own while others are more difficult and become non-healing. This is when they need special treatment which can be found right here!!

Now that we have nice weather that will hopefully stay for a while, pay attention to how your legs feel with activity. PAD symptoms include claudication(leg or foot pain/discomfort with walking), skin discoloration and coolness, foot ulcers/wounds that do not heal. Risk Factors for PAD include but limited to: smoking, diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, obesity, and older age.
