Hey guys- Dr Dove here. We have a wonderful blessing box in our parking lot. If you would like to help us keep it full, your community would love it. It takes a village to make Manhattan such a success! I’ll also take any diaper donations at the office- leave those at the front desk so they don’t get wet or dirty.

If you are having food insecurity, Common Table for an evening meal and Flint Hills Breadbasket for groceries are resources in our community! Shepards Crossing can help if you are struggling with bills and finances.

We are treating the shutdown as a disaster within our community. The number of Military and Government Employee families we saw for the first time was just the beginning of the influx of new families we're seeing.

If the shutdown continues to 10/28 -- there will not be SNAP benefits in November. That's 2,700 of your neighbors in Riley County. 68% are households with children.

Please donate today by visiting bit.ly/4fMULyJ or find us on Venmo at venmo.com/flinthillsbreadbasket

Join us for National Prescription Drug "Take Back Day" this Saturday, Oct. 25th, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the front lobby of the RCPD.

"Take Back Day" offers a safe and free opportunity to dispose of old medications discreetly and safely. It's a perfect time to tidy up your medicine cabinet and bring your unused prescription drugs to the RCPD for proper disposal. Expired or unused prescription medications pose a public safety risk.

If you aren't in Riley County, please visit www.DEATakeBack.com to find a collection location near you.

At today's Cabinet meeting, RFK Jr. claimed circumcised children have "double the rate of autism," adding it's "highly likely because they're given Tylenol." His logic? Some circumcised boys get Tylenol for pain, and some are later diagnosed with autism—therefore, Tylenol causes autism. That's like saying umbrellas cause car accidents because both are more common on rainy days. (And no, circumcision doesn't cause autism either.)

In our latest substack, we unpack this claim and the broader war on Tylenol during pregnancy. We examine the studies Kennedy vaguely referenced (spoiler: one never even mentioned Tylenol), break down why the research doesn't show causation, and explore the massive Swedish study of 2.5 million children that found NO link. Plus, we explain the real dangers of "toughing out" fever during pregnancy. The truth is less dramatic than recent announcements: there's no credible evidence linking acetaminophen to autism, but there IS strong evidence that untreated fever and pain can harm both mothers and babies.
