Homer “Lin” Smith, 73, of Leachville, Arkansas passed away on April 22, 2026 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born on October 21, 1952 in St. Louis, Missouri to Homer Franklin and Dolly Christine (Gardner) Smith. Lin was a handyman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking, doing mechanical work, and spending time with family. Yearly Lin always looked forward to attending his Smith and Simpson family reunion.

Survivors include; wife of 42 years: Carol Smith of the home; two daughters: Tracy DeRemer (Richard) of Pennsylvania, Leigh Ann Davis of Leachville, Arkansas; one son: Michael Anthony Bonvicino (Michelle) of Granite City, Illinois; one sister: Leona Simpson of Granite City, Illinois; seven grandchildren: Joseph Bonvicino (Megan), Courtney Davis, Austin Bonvicino (Macie), Lauren DeRemer, Alec Bonvicino, Ciara Davis, Makenzie White; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

He is preceded in death by; his parents: Homer Franklin and Dolly Christine (Gardner) Smith; one son: Richard Smith; two brothers: Kenneth Smith and Troy Smith; one sister: Arvena Simpson; and one great grandchild: Finnley Bonvicino.

The family has requested that a celebration of life be held at a later date.

Lynda Gail Knight, 78, of Paragould, Arkansas passed away on April 21, 2026 at Monette Manor Nursing Home. She was born on August 16, 1947 in Des Arc, Arkansas to Luby and Buvetta (Britt) Pitts. Lynda was of the Baptist Faith and faithfully played softball for her church team for many years. She also served as a song leader at her church and found great joy in singing. Above all, she cherished the time she spent with her family.

Survivors include; one son: David Knight, Jr. of Paragould, Arkansas; one brother: Dennis Pitts (Carlotta) of Nashville, Tennessee; one sister: Peggy Henry (Gary) of Byron, Michigan; five grandchildren: Trey Knight (Danecia) of South Dakota, Mailyn Jeffries (Garrett) of Springfield, Missouri, Nathan Knight of Paragould, Arkansas, Frankie Knight of Paragould, Arkansas, Stephen Bailey (Katie) of Flint, Michigan; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

In addition to her parents; Lynda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Knight. Sr, who passed away exactly one month earlier. They shared a loving marriage since October 30, 1965. Also preceding her in death is one daughter: Tina Knight; and one sister: Janice Faulkner.

A celebration of life to honor them both will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at the Lake Street Baptist Church in Paragould, Arkansas.

Bobbie Jean Wells, 87, of Jonesboro, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.

Bobbie Jean Wells was born on March 23, 1939, in Osceola, to the late George Thompson and Edna Thompson. She was one of seven children born to this union.

Bobbie Jean was a woman of faith and a former member of Progressive Baptist Church in Blytheville, where she worshipped under the leadership of the late Reverend Burton. Her life was a reflection of love, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family.

She was well known for her exceptional cooking and warm hospitality, always opening her home and heart to others. Her presence brought comfort and joy, and her legacy of love will live on through all who knew her. One of her favorite scriptures, “Peace, be still,” served as a guiding source of strength and comfort throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Willie Mae Simmons, Joe Thompson, Andrew Thompson, James Thompson, and George Thompson; and one son, Richard Matthews.

Bobbie Jean was first united in marriage to Johnny Matthews, and to this union were born Johnny Matthews of Blytheville, Arkansas; Jacqueline Matthews of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and Sherry Riley of Jonesboro, Arkansas. She later united in marriage to Willie Wells, and to this union Marilyn Trible was born.

She leaves to cherish her memory one sister, Luanna Harris of Osceola, Arkansas; her children, Johnny Matthews, Jacqueline Matthews, Sherry Riley, and Marilyn Trible; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

In accordance with her wishes, Bobbie Jean Wells was cremated, and no formal services are planned at this time.

Bobbie Jean Wells will be remembered for her loving spirit, her strength, her faith, and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.

Michael James Simpson, 58, of Osceola, Arkansas, passed away after a long illness on April 17, 2026 in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Michael was born September 16, 1967, in the Panama Canal Zone to the late James Bernard Simpson and Ruth (nee Jeter) Simpson. He had been a resident of Osceola, Arkansas since 2020 and previously lived in Hendersonville, Tennessee.

Michael proudly served in the United States Army, and he will always be remembered for his adventurous spirit. Before settling down, Michael lived a full and interesting life, embracing new experiences and carving out stories that those close to him will cherish for years to come.

In time, he chose to devote himself to family, becoming a loving and dedicated husband and father. He was immensely proud of his children and found great joy in watching them grow into their own unique individuals. It is a profound tragedy that he will not be present to witness the many milestones still ahead in their lives, though his love and influence will remain with them always.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa (nee Bunday) Simpson of Osceola, Arkansas, whom he married in 2005; his children, James Simpson of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Maya Simpson and Joshua Simpson, both of Osceola; his mother, Ruth Smith of Gallatin, Tennessee; and his sister, Tonya Bailey (Jason) of Lascassas, Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Bernard Simpson.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Dale Jay Felton, 72, of Benton, Arkansas passed away on April 16, 2026 at his home. He was born on January 2, 1954 in Warsaw, Missouri to David and Jeannie (McGuckie) Felton. Dale enjoyed fishing, collecting coins, knives, baseball cards, telling old adventures, and loved his family with a passion.

Survivors include; two sons: Jason Felton (Selina) and Adam Felton; one daughter: Misty Felton; two sisters: Diana Jewels Felton and Deborah Joy Felton Riesland; one brother: Daniel Joseph Felton; seven grandchildren: Travis Felton, Mallory Pritchett, Shalea Hodgkiss, Jayleen Felton, McKenzie Hedley, Hailey Schraeder, Kyle Schraeder; four great grandchildren: Jovi Brooke Pritchett, Maximus Alan Self, Apollo Reed Hodgkiss, Everest Jaxon Hodgkiss; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

Janice Lee Hicks, 73, of Trumann passed away at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas on April 15, 2026. She was born on September 27, 1952 to Hubert and Thelma Smith. Janice was a faithful member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Trumann, Arkansas, where she had attended since 1970. Her faith was an important part of who she was, and it guided the way she lived each day. She found strength, comfort, and purpose in her church family and in her relationship with the Lord.

Janice was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She shared 54 devoted years of marriage with her husband, Charley Hicks, and together they built a life centered on love, faith, and steadfast companionship. She was a proud and caring mother to her daughter, Carissa Steed(Kevin);and she found great joy in her granddaughters, Emma Specht and Everly Specht; brother, Donald D. Smith(Shelby); and sister, Glenda Bledsoe (Danny)

Janice was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother, Thurman M. Smith. Her family was one of the greatest blessings in her life, and she treasured the bonds she shared with each of them.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 20, 2026 from 10:00a.m. until service time at The First United Pentecostal Church in Trumann (421 Christy Ave, Trumann Arkansas) Service will begin at 11:00a.m with Chad Batson officiating. Burial will follow at Marked Tree Cemetery.

James Edward Floyd, Sr., 77, of Trumann, Arkansas passed away on April 12, 2026 at his home. He was born on March 24, 1949 in Dyess, Arkansas to James and Alice (Stout) Floyd. James enjoyed fishing, buying and selling cars, and spending time with family.

Survivors include; two sons: James Edward Floyd, Jr. (Patricia) and Nathan Floyd (Angela); one daughter: Marilyn Floyd; two brothers: Tommy Floyd and Scotty Floyd (Sharon); seventeen grandchildren; thirty-three great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

He is preceded in death by; his parents: James and Alice (Stout) Floyd; one son: Jeff Floyd; and five sisters: Goldie Ann Bartlett, Irene Hurt, Betty Foster, Katherine Floyd, and Patty Gilmore.

Earla Mae Riley, 81, of Rector, Arkansas passed away on April 10, 2026 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born on July 19, 1944 in Shenandoah, Iowa to Edgar Earl and Leona Mae (Hicks) Swinney.

Earla Mae was a graduate of Campbell High School class of 1962. She also was a graduate of Kennett Area Vocational School and became an LPN Nurse. She and her husband Dewey George Lawrence united in marriage on December 8, 1962 and had two children. She was a member of the First Assembly of God church and enjoyed attending gospel concerts. She also enjoyed traveling, crocheting, and spending time with her family, but especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include; lifelong companion: Dewey George Lawrence; one daughter: Victoria Gilbert (David) of Kentucky; one son: Timothy Lawrence (Runay) of Marmaduke, Arkansas; eight grandchildren: Phillip Lawrence (Kayleigh), Tim Lawrence, Brandon Lawrence (Sarah), Shayleigh Lawrence, Christopher Hahn (Sarah), Steven Hahn (Sabrina), Matthew Hahn (Deejana), Amanda Gilbert; five step grandchildren: Robert West (Lindsay), Christopher Dingee, Kristin Evans, James Gilbert, Joseph Gilbert (Jackie); nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by; her parents: Edgar Earl and Leona Mae (Hicks) Swinney; husband: Clarence Earl Riley; one brother: Henry Michael Swinney; and two sisters: Loretta Jean Book and Lillie Alleen Blansett.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. at Kennett First Assembly of God in Kennett, Missouri with Rev. Henry Riber and Rev. James Evans officiating. The family will receive visitors at the church from 12:00 P.M. until service time. Interment will follow at Dunklin County Memorial Gardens in Kennett, Missouri under the direction of Faith Funeral Service.

A reception will be held at the church fellowship hall immediately following the graveside service.

Dwight Hammons, 78, of Trumann, Arkansas passed away on March 26, 2026 at Woodbriar Nursing Home in Harrisburg, Arkansas. He was born on July 1, 1947 in Tampa, Florida to William and Ruby (Richardson) Hammons. Dwight treasured the time he spent with his family.

She was born on January 18, 1949 in Savannah, Tennessee to John and Edith (Ward) Shuburte. Johnnie was of the Pentecostal faith. She was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother, and sister. Everyone that knew her loved her. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include; four children: Michael Armstrong (Shari) of Trumann, Arkansas, Richard Armstrong of Marked Tree, Arkansas, Sandra Chastain of Marion, Arkansas, Dustin Armstrong of Trumann, Arkansas; nine grandchildren: Crystal, Michael, Jr., April, Hunter, Mallory, Gavin, Shayden, Caleb, John Thomas; six great grandchildren: Kael, Ava, Hannah, J.R., Luke, Blake; five brothers: Danny Shuburte (Cathy) of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Jim Shuburte (Tammy) of Trumann, Arkansas, Buddy Shuburte of Trumann, Arkansas, David Shuburte of Morrilton, Arkansas, Rickey Shuburte (Pam) of Memphis, Tennessee; one sister: Patricia Sutton of Greenwood, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

Those to serve as pallbearers will be; Dustin Armstrong, Michael Armstrong, Shayden Armstrong, Clyde Muntz, and Carl Gross. Honorary pallbearers are her grandsons.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Providence Baptist Church in Trumann, Arkansas with Bro. Bobby Brooks officiating. The family will receive visitors from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park in Jonesboro, Arkansas under the direction of Faith Funeral Service.

The family would life to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at Greene House Cottages of Belle Meade for the compassionate care and kindness shown to their mother.
