We are getting super excited at Anna's to be kicking off the holiday season! The tree has been trimmed with care, we had a wonderful group of women making gifts in store to get us in the spirit, and now we are really looking forward to seeing you Thanksgiving weekend to come in and explore all of the seasonal and new product formulations we have created for you.

We are busy little elves making our Seasonal Herbal Hot Cocoa that sells out every year and will hit the shelves Thanksgiving week so come by and see us! We are making seasonal skin care products that feel and smell amazing, and we have added books and several items for the herbal enthusiasts in your life! Books, incense burners and bundles to burn will get you in the holiday spirit! And remember sometimes we need to buy ourselves a little something, something as well!

Over the past few months, we’ve had so many fresh plants hit our production counter - vitex berry, elecampane, skullcap, California poppy, burdock, bacopa, ashwagandha, motherwort, red clover, hawthorn, nettle, milky oats, and lemon balm!

WOW!

We’ve been busy tincturing and crafting glycerites with all of these - but why does it matter that they’re fresh?

Fresh plants hold the plant exactly as it is in nature: full of volatile oils, aromatics, and bright, living energy. These tinctures feel more “alive” and often capture nuances that disappear once a plant is dried.

Have you ever noticed that vines have a way of finding one another; reaching, wrapping, and growing stronger through connection.

We like to believe that the apothecary is a little like that - a living thing - shaped by every conversation, every question, every moment of shared learning across the counter and through the seasons.

We’ve grown because of the hands and hearts around us - the makers, the mothers, the healers, and the curious souls who keep showing up.

As we root deeper and reach further, we’re reminded that wisdom isn’t owned, it’s shared. And just like the vines, we’re still growing.. quietly, naturally, toward something new.

Because the beauty of this work has never been in standing alone, but in growing together.

One of the most fun parts about working with fresh plants these past few months has been seeing how the plants respond to the process.

For example, this fresh elecampane.

When chopped and topped with alcohol, it immediately turned cloudy, and while you might think something had gone wrong, its just elecampane doing its thing. That milky look comes from a mix of the root’s inulin and volatile oils - just a perfect example of how fresh plant tinctures can capture its living essence.
