Another newbie to the Ascend Throw With All Your Heart Celebrity Axe Thrower family! Dr Baley will be tossing axes on April 11th from 3 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. If you are ready for an axe “adjustment” come on over to Tapped on the Lakeshore and get ready to take her on. Dr. Baley Mikita is not a regular doctor; she is a cool doctor! She is a female focused chiropractor and the owner and founder of The Optimal Health Co. with offices in Sheboygan and Manitowoc. She is looking forward to exercising her very competitive spirit at the event and is ready to throw down with anyone who steps up to take her on!

Tell us a little about yourself.

I currently own my own business, The Executive Concierge, LLC. My professional background includes working as the Assistant to the Mayor for the City of Manitowoc, and working at The Chamber of Manitowoc County. In addition to serving on Ascend Services' Board of Directors, I currently serve on the Fund Development Subcommittee of Ascend Services, Hope House of Manitowoc County Board of Directors, the Downtown Manitowoc Committee, the Entrepreneur Programming Committee of Progress Lakeshore, and the Manitowoc Lutheran High School Gala Planning Committee.

What inspired you to join the Board?

I am inspired DAILY by the work Ascend Services does. I especially like that Ascend connects the individuals they serve to resources in our community, and that the individuals are given options as to what they'd like to do and how to best create their own full and meaningful life.

Why is our mission important to you personally?

I grew up next door to an individual who went to Holiday House every day, and I remember the joy and pride she had in working there. Had it not been for the routine and meaningful work that Holiday House (now Ascend) provided to Suzie, I think her trajectory in life may have played out very differently. I believe strongly in equity and inclusion and value the fact that Ascend Services fights for those rights in their daily existence.

What impact do you hope our organization continues to make in the community?

I hope that Ascend Services becomes the organization of choice for all eligible individuals who would like to work and create meaningful lives in Manitowoc County.

A fun fact about you:

I love to do paper crafts, hand lettering, and quilling; now that we're down to just one child left in the nest, I'm excited to reinvigorate my love for these hobbies.

When you're not working or volunteering, how do you like to spend your time?

I love spending time with my husband Chris, our children and their significant others, and my close circle of friends.

The Luxe Girls are ready to throw in Ascends Throw With All Your Heart Fundraiser Celebrity Axe Throwers! They’ll be tossing axes on April 11th from 2:30 pm to 3 pm. If you are ready for a “makeover” come on over to Tapped on the Lakeshore and take these girls on! Annie and Ashley are co-owners of Luxe Beauty Bar . Over the past 5 years they have scaled and outgrown their current space which is why they are moving in summer of 2026! As their business continues to grow, so do their competitive spirits! They love good friendly competition especially when it is for a good cause!

Breaking news...there has been a theft! Easter E. Bunny has stolen all the axes for Ascends Throw With All Your Heart Fundraiser at Tapped on the Lakeshore and we need them back by April 11th! Be on the lookout for a furry, long eared, axe carrying critter also carrying large amounts of chocolate and candy!

Bob is a seasoned pro, well this is his second time, for the Ascend Throw With All Your Heart Fundraiser at Tapped on the Lakeshore ! He will be chucking axes from 2 pm to 2:30 pm on April 11! As Senior Vice President at Nicolet National Bank, Bob supports the bank's growth in their Manitowoc County market and is dedicated to fostering a customer-centric environment that created lasting relationships with clients and the community. When not doing that, he enjoys outdoor activities and traveling with family, although most of the time that is to one specific spot – Disney! He is also actively involved in various organizations throughout Manitowoc County. But the big question is...is he better than last year? Come on down and find out!
