The holidays can hold so many things at once — joy, nostalgia, exhaustion, and sometimes, ache.

Wherever you are this season, may you find small moments of peace: a quiet walk, a deep breath, a shared laugh, or simply the reminder that you are enough, just as you are.

Let this be a season of gentleness.

Did you know your vagus nerve is always wandering?

In Latin, vagus means “to wander.” The vagus nerve wanders through your respiratory, cardiac, and digestive systems, influencing how calm, rested, and regulated you feel.

In this Winter Nervous System Reset, Terra Hartman, NP and owner of Genesis Integrative Medicine, joins DPT Liz Wergin to explore simple ways to support vagal tone—especially during the busy winter months.

✨ Gentle practices that stimulate the vagus nerve:
• Diaphragmatic breathing
• Humming
• Gargling

✨ And tools like Pulsetto vagus nerve stimulation which can help cue the nervous system toward rest and regulation.

When we support the vagus nerve, we’re not forcing calm—we’re inviting it.

See you there?!

Women's Summit is pleased to begin announcing the line-up of presenters for our 4th Annual Women's Summit on March 7, 2026.

Introducing: Elizabeth Wergin, DPT.
Juniper Strength & Recovery Studio

Elizabeth is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and the founder of Juniper Strength & Recovery Studio in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Her work centers on helping people move beyond pain and fear of re-injury and into strength, confidence, and long-term resilience. Elizabeth’s path into physical therapy was shaped by an early realization: many individuals complete rehabilitation without truly feeling prepared to return to the lives they want to live. She saw a need for care that didn’t stop at symptom relief, but instead supported people in rebuilding trust in their bodies. That insight led her to open Juniper—a space designed to bridge rehabilitation, strength training, and whole-person recovery. With advanced training in orthopedic physical therapy, a variety of manual therapy techniques, strength training, and integrative recovery technologies, Elizabeth bridges evidence-based medicine with whole-person care. At Juniper Strength & Recovery Studio, she blends these approaches to support healing, nervous system regulation, and sustainable movement for active, health-conscious individuals.

Elizabeth’s approach is grounded in education, compassion, and intentional progress. Through thoughtful care and purposeful movement, she helps clients reconnect with their bodies and move forward feeling supported, empowered, and strong.

Introducing Core Reset — now available at Juniper.

This therapy originated in Paris, where advanced radiofrequency (TECAR) treatments are used to support circulation, tissue health, and metabolic function.

We’re bringing that approach here.

These silhouettes show one participant who experienced a 5-inch change through her midsection in six weeks during our Core Reset study series.

Each session is 30 minutes, non-invasive, and designed to support the body at the core — literally.

Core Reset is for those looking to:
• support metabolic and abdominal health
• feel more connected and supported through their core
• address stubborn midsection changes in a thoughtful, clinical way

This isn’t about chasing the scale.
It’s about supporting health from the inside out.

What once started as small group strength has grown into LiftHER — an even more intentional approach to strength training for women who want to feel strong now and stay strong for life.

We now offer two LiftHER paths, each designed to meet you where you are — and take you where you want to go:

✨ LiftHER Progressive
This is where progressive overload lives.

• Core lifts repeat weekly so your body can learn, adapt, and improve
• Form, tone, and confidence build through consistency
• Strength is progressed intentionally — not randomly
• Progress is tracked so you can actually see and feel your growth

This style of training supports metabolism, energy, and long-term longevity — because muscle doesn’t just happen, it’s built.

✨ LiftHER Flex
Strength with variety — and flexibility.

• Full-body strength workouts with weekly variety
• Balanced, accessible programming that meets you where you are
• Beginner-friendly and confidence-building
• Always fresh, effective, and coach-led

Flex is perfect if you love variety, need schedule flexibility, or want a great complement to Progressive training.

Here’s what we know to be true:
Women don’t need more workouts —
they need expert guidance, intentional strength, and consistency over time.

Muscle supports metabolism.
Strength fuels energy.
And training well is one of the greatest investments you can make in your future self.

With the New Year just 10 days away, this is your invitation to:
• continue building momentum
• or start strong — with support, structure, and purpose

This isn’t about doing more.
It’s about doing what works — together. 🤍

the kind of love we need in 2026✨ - Not the kind that just holds your hand — the kind that puts a dumbbell in it.

We’re introducing LiftHER at Juniper: small-group strength training built for women who are ready to lift with purpose and lift together.

LiftHER Progressive — Consistency meets progress. Same primary lifts weekly so your technique sharpens, your confidence builds, and your strength becomes undeniable.

LiftHER Flex — Full-body strength with fresh variety every week. Balanced, accessible, and designed to meet you exactly where you are.

Both are coach-led, community-driven, and grounded in intentional movement. Because the best kind of support doesn’t just cheer you on — it challenges you to become stronger.

Walking + listening = calm you can feel 🎧🚶‍♀️

Today, Liz is joined by Becky Richards, LPC, licensed psychotherapist and owner of Summit Clinical Services, to share one of her favorite grounding practices for the holiday season: bilateral music + walking ✨

With headphones on (key for bilateral stimulation), Becky guides Liz through selecting a playlist and walking with intention—using rhythm and movement to help the nervous system settle.

Why it works:
• Left-right sound engages both sides of the brain
• Walking adds gentle, regulating input
• Together, they support calm, focus, and emotional balance

🌊 And when weather allows?
Take it outside—especially along the Lake Michigan shoreline—for even greater grounding.

🎶 Becky’s favorite bilateral playlist:

Huge thank you to Jared Dalberg from UW-Green Bay for starting his morning early with us and helping several Juniper Strength & Recovery Studio and Genesis Integrative Medicine staff complete their continuing education and renewed BLS (CPR/AED) certification. 👏

Ongoing training like this matters. It keeps our teams prepared, confident, and ready to care for our community—both inside and outside the clinic.

We’re also happy to share that there is an AED located in the 1011 building in downtown Manitowoc, adding another layer of safety for everyone who works in or visits the space.

Grateful for knowledgeable educators, strong partnerships, and a shared commitment to keeping our community safe.
