We were honored to welcome Eric Goddeyne, PA-C, experienced orthopedic specialist and founder of Mobile Therapeutics, to LakeHouse Manitowoc!

Eric recently spoke with our residents about understanding and managing joint pain — and shared an important reminder: joint pain is NOT just a “normal part of aging.”

What we love most? Mobile Therapeutics offers convenient, on-site pain relief right here in our community. That means no extra trips out and no “yet another appointment” to schedule. Eric comes to our residents, making care easier, more comfortable, and stress-free.

Our residents were so happy to have the opportunity to meet with an orthopedic specialist without leaving home — and we’re excited to continue offering this added level of convenience and care! 💙

When dementia enters a marriage, the relationship you've built together begins to shift in ways you never anticipated. You're still partners, but the dynamics are changing — and so are you.

For this second episode of our February series on Love, Loss, and Connection, we're bringing back an important conversation with host Dawn Platt as she explores what it means to care for a spouse living with dementia. She shares practical guidance on adapting to your evolving roles, maintaining your own well-being amid the demands of caregiving, and working through the challenges that arise along the way.

Whether you're newly navigating this journey or have been walking this path for a while, this conversation offers both insight and solidarity as we examine how dementia reshapes our closest relationships, and how those bonds endure.

What happens when a son who's been estranged from his mother for years gets a call from her bank manager saying something's wrong? In this powerful first episode of our new four-part series examining how dementia reshapes relationships, Host Dawn Platt sits down with Jonathan, a married father of two who never imagined he'd become his mother's caregiver. When dementia struck during COVID, Jonathan made the life-altering decision to move her from Connecticut into his home in Florida, despite their complicated past.

Falls don't have to be inevitable, and the solution is simpler than you think. In this powerful finale to our January Wellness Series, Host Dawn Platt welcomes back Dr. Brittany Tallhamer, a physical and occupational therapist who has witnessed firsthand how movement can transform lives at any age or stage of dementia. Brittany shares the shocking truth about what happens when we stop moving, reveals how one bedbound patient walked 30 feet after just one week of therapy, and breaks down the exact exercises that help keep memory care residents not just safer, but more engaged. Tune in to learn why we don't lose mobility because we age; we age faster because we stop moving.
