Healthiest Manitowoc County HMC provides collaborative leadership to improve the health of Manitowoc County.

A coalition of community leaders was formed in 2004 to identify and address Manitowoc County’s health concerns. Healthiest Manitowoc County (HMC), a community- based initiative, seeks to make positive changes in the health status of Manitowoc County residents. The HMC Steering Committee consists of representatives from many sectors of the community.

Congratulations Roncalli Elementary on your award! We appreciate all of the schools who participated in Walk and Roll to School Day this past October. These events help encourage active modes of transportation, build healthy habits, increase pedestrian safety, and reduce vehicles on the road allowing for a cleaner environment.

We can't wait to see how many schools participate next year and who will be the next recipient of the GOLDEN SNEAKER!

This past Friday we welcomed 77 families-about 240 individuals at our 3rd annual Community Baby Shower hosted by HMC Investing Early!

Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, planned, and attended the event! We also want to thank all the agencies who provided education, showcased resources, and provided some extra fun at the event!

Our next Parent Café is on October 15th from 5:30-7:30! A free meal for all participants and childcare for children aged 6 months to 11 years are provided for the duration of the event, which is open to any parent in the community.

Parent Cafés are physically and emotionally safe spaces where people talk and listen to each other on topics that matter to them, such as the challenges and victories of raising a family, navigating landscapes of inequality, enhancing well-being, or being involved in the recovery process of someone they love. Through individual self-reflection and peer-to-peer learning, participants explore their strengths, learn about the Protective Factors, and create strategies from their own wisdom and experiences to strengthen their families.
