The thoughts continue and as long as I am inspired to share, here they are.

Darkness is inevitable.
Light keeps the darkness from fully taking over.

It's the balance that's been in action for millennia.
Yin / Yang. Light / Dark.
Extremes never last very long, transformation always comes.

Join along on this winter plant walk in which you will get to identify and learn about some of the medicinal barks!

We will spend time with Bur Oak, Red Osier, Crampbark, and Prickly Ash - exploring their ID as well as the unique medicine each offers.

Along our walk, we will encounter other edible and/or medicinal plants which we will explore. Plants such as Elder, Rose, Eastern Red Cedar, Sumac, and others! (To be clear, it is not the bark we will be discussing with these plants.)

Saturday, February 7th from 10am - noon
Sakatah State Trail, Mankato*
$35/ person

New Years Resolutions.

The idea never fully made sense to me.

And as I re-became more and more in tune with the rhythms of the Earth and Nature, it became apparent why.

The 'New Year' has nothing to do with the seasons or the rhythms of Nature. It is simply a way of telling human time.

And so.. if you have "failed" at resolutions or you struggle with the idea, it is okay- really.

Right now, as we start a new year, we are in the Belly of Winter.

If we compared this 'season' to other life events, we would be gestating a babe in our womb.. or stratifying seeds in the cold ground.. or.. (choose your own metaphor).

Let this time be a time of rest, of tending, and of dreaming... a time of preparing for the abundance of growth and life yet to come.

This time, although more still than any other season, is not with its purpose or its wisdom/medicine.

Nature is not rushing and She is not sending out new growth. Not yet.

Neither do we, not yet 💜

Today, in the Belly of Winter, I'm spending my day tending and preparing for the seasons to come.

I've chosen to intentionally spend my day with the plants. The plants I tended to, spent time with, harvested, and made medicine out of in previous seasons.

These medicines, harvested and created with as much care and intention as I know and have, are the very medicines that will become allies for the very individuals who choose to work alongside myself and the plants within their health and/or healing journey.

My goodness.. I'm filled with gratitude.
