10 Things I wish I knew before I started healing my childhood identity trauma:

• That I wasn’t broken—I was conditioned.

• That survival skills would try to come with me into healing… and they would have to be laid down.

• That the little girl in me didn’t need to be corrected—she needed to be met.

• That healing would grieve what never was, not just what happened.

• That my body remembered what my mind learned to minimize.

• That silence, people-pleasing, and over-functioning were learned protections—not personality traits.

• That I would have to let go of who I became to stay safe in order to meet who I was created to be.

• That being seen would feel more threatening than being hurt—until it became freedom.

• That God wasn’t asking me to perform healing… He was inviting me into presence.

• That once I was seen, heard, and felt—there would be no going back to survival.

The moment you finally see them, the real healing begins — the kind that rewrites your identity, breaks the cycles, restores your voice, and pulls you into the life God intended all along. This is the shift from surviving to truly living.

For years, I carried silent burdens I didn’t even know I was holding. Emotions that weren’t mine. Wounds that whispered lies. Shadows that kept me small, hiding, apologizing for existing.

But when I surrendered—even just for 7 days—to the process God set before me, something began to shift. My heart felt lighter. My mind clearer. My body… finally started to listen.

This isn’t about quick fixes or shallow feel-good moments. This is about your spirit rising above what has tried to define you. This is about finally stepping into the fullness of who God created you to be—whole, seen, and free.
