You thought the Reformer was going to do all the work for you, didn’t you? 😏
Plot twist: it’s just sitting there judging your core while YOU do the sweating.

Those springs may look friendly, but they’ve got opinions. The carriage glides, the straps pull, and suddenly muscles you didn’t even know existed are clocking in for duty. The magic of the Reformer isn’t that it moves you—it’s that it challenges you to move better, stronger, and with control.

So no, the machine won’t do the work for you… but it WILL make you feel like a total powerhouse when you’re done. And maybe a little shaky in the best way.

Single leg bridging on the Reformer is already a challenge, but add the leg in the strap and it takes things to a whole new level 🔥
This variation builds strength through the glutes and hamstrings, challenges pelvic stability, and adds an incredible stretch through the hips and legs—all while keeping the core fully engaged.

When we realized we were missing Kaitlyn’s fierce energy, we did what any good Pilates crew would do… added an extra spring to the series 💪🌊 Bringing those beach vibes straight back to the Reformer.

Rear facing kneeling arms is a Studio E Pilates staple 💪✨
This series—think rowing variations, tricep extensions, and posture-focused pulls—is all about strength with intention.

Working from a kneeling position challenges your core stability, hip control, and spinal alignment, while the straps create constant, intelligent resistance. As you row and extend, you’re firing up the posterior chain—upper back, shoulders, glutes, and deep core—while also targeting all those small stabilizing muscles that traditional dumbbells just don’t reach.

Beyond strength, this series is huge for posture. It reinforces proper shoulder mechanics, opens the chest, and builds endurance in the muscles that support an upright spine—something we all need more of in daily life.

Bridging on the Reformer is one of our favorite ways to end class at Studio E —and for good reason. 💫

Bridges are powerful for strengthening the glutes, hamstrings, and posterior chain while also improving spinal mobility and pelvic stability. On the Reformer, the springs add just enough resistance to fire up the muscles while still supporting the spine, making it both effective and accessible.

As with most exercises, there are an infinite amount of variations—today we’re showing a traditional single-leg bridge, which challenges balance, deep core control, and hip stability even more. 🔥

Let’s be honest though… we think our clients love bridging not just for the strength work, but because they know what’s coming next. 😉
If bridging is our last series of class, that means straddle stretch is waiting. And if you haven’t experienced straddle stretch yet… you truly don’t know what you’re missing. Lengthening the inner thighs, decompressing the spine, and leaving you feeling open, strong, and accomplished—there’s no better way to finish. ✨
