Get to know Dr. Jesse Botker, Orthopedic Surgeon and Sports Medicine Specialist at OFC with over 15 years of experience serving our patients and community.

For Dr. Botker, the most rewarding part of his job is helping patients and athletes return to active, pain-free lifestyles and perform at a high level. Many patients come to him searching for answers, and being able to guide them with a skillset built through years of training and experience is what makes his work meaningful. The greatest honor, he says, is when patients return or refer their family and friends, trusting him with their care.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Botker enjoys staying active and busy. You might find him wake surfing, weightlifting, smoking meat on his Traeger, attending concerts with his wife, hunting, or cheering on his daughters at their sporting events. And as a Vikings season ticket holder, he is well acquainted with the ups, downs, and annual heartbreak of football season. 😉

What Dr. Botker enjoys most about working at OFC is the people. From the teams at OFC to Mankato Surgery Center, Rivers Edge Hospital, and Windom Area Health, he values the collaboration and relationships that make each day enjoyable. “I love my job and look forward to every day,” he shares.

Orthopedic Surgeon Spotlight: Dr. Scott Allen

Get to know Dr. Allen, an orthopedic surgeon at OFC since 2021.

Dr. Allen was born and raised in Mankato. In 2005 he left for college and medical training before returning back to his hometown in 2021 to provide orthopedic care at OFC for the community he grew up in.

“The most rewarding part of my job is seeing patients get back to the life they love,” said Dr. Allen. “Whether that’s skiing, playing with grandkids, or simply moving without pain. Being part of that journey is what makes this work meaningful.”

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Allen keeps busy with family life. He and his wife have two young boys full of energy at home, which means he has no shortage of helping hands or activity outside the clinic. 😉

Dr. Allen enjoys the tight-knit, family feel of OFC. He believes one of the main strengths of our clinic is its one-stop approach to care. From clinic visits to surgery, therapy, and performance training, it is all on the same campus. No other place in the area has everything in one place, making it easier for patients to move through every stage of care in one setting.

What he enjoys most about working at OFC is the patient-first culture. “If a patient of mine needs to talk, they get a real person on the phone to help them, and usually within a few short texts or calls, they can get ahold of me,” Dr. Allen says. "Patients connect directly with our team, with no call centers, just real people focused on helping."
