🔔 Exciting News! Our community is starting a bell choir, led by Rene Hebert, and we're looking for a volunteer to join us! We are looking for a pianist to accompany our weekly practices. We will practice every Thursday in December from 10:00 - 10:30 am.

Happy birthday, Marianne! Join us in celebrating Marianne W.'s 99th birthday! She is a vibrant member of our community! A proud Syracusan, Marianne's life story is an inspiring tapestry of dedication to family, career and community.

Marianne was happily married for 50 years. Her family has grown to include three children, eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Marianne's professional journey began with Northwest Airlines at the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport. She later found her true calling in customer service at Key Bank, a job she enjoyed immensely because of her genuine love for helping people.

Her spirit of service extended far beyond her workplace. Marianne was a dedicated leader for the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts for fifteen years, and served as a committee woman for an incredible 50 years!

Even now, Marianne remains active and engaged. She is an avid Bridge player and loves watching game shows, playing card games and socializing with friends.

Gloria grew up in West Virginia. After attending Syracuse University, where she met her husband Ben, Gloria dedicated herself to raising their four children and now enjoys the chaos of ten grandchildren! 🏡❤️

After Ben's retirement, Gloria pursued her own dream and successfully ran a business for eight years. Today, she fills her time with her many passions, including knitting, gardening, enjoying music and socializing with friends. Above all, Gloria loves meeting new people! 👋 She also serves as a Welcome Ambassador and Resident Volunteer in our community. Gloria and her husband Ben have been residents of Brookdale for the past four years.

Honoring Our Heroes: A Special Veterans Day at Brookdale Manlius.

We are fortunate to have a wonderful group of resident veterans at Brookdale Manlius. To honor their devotion and sacrifice, we proudly display their photos on our "Wall of Heroes." This Veterans Day, we were blessed to host the VFW Post 7872. Their members joined us to provide a heartfelt gun salute, a moving tribute to those who have served.

The power of community is truly special, allowing our veterans to feel seen, respected and supported. We are so grateful to the VFW for helping us recognize these incredible individuals!

Join us in wishing our friend Peg a belated happy 92nd birthday! Some love stories start with a movie, but Peg and Paul's story began with a slice of lemon meringue pie in Peg's mother's kitchen. It was the start of something truly special. Over 70 years of marriage, five children and a lifetime of memories later; their family bond is as strong as ever. In a charming twist of fate, their love brought two families together when Peg's sister married Paul's brother. We're celebrating this beautiful journey and Peg who spent over two decades as a dedicated teacher's assistant for the North Syracuse School District. A true testament to love, family and dedication! Happy birthday, Peg!
