Hi Everyone, I wanted to make a post and let everyone know what is going on with Dr. Higgs and the future of NMFC.

We were working with a young couple that are both chiropractors for several months to sell the practice to them. Unfortunately the deal fell through due to financing issues.

Dr. Higgs’ health has not improved over the last 2 plus years, it has actually worsened considerably unfortunately.

DR. HIGGS IS OFFICIALLY RETIRING!!!!

I know some of you want your records, but unfortunately we are unable to provide them to you due to the fact that the company that transferred them for us had a system crash and they weren’t retrievable.

The building and property are for sale, if anyone is interested you may call 304-771-8166. If I don’t answer please leave a message, I am actively taking care of George, we could be at a doctors appointment or at the hospital. I will return your call as soon as possible. It is time to update y’all on my progress. My cardiac catheterization procedure was successful, unfortunately the results were not what i wanted to hear. The damage to my heart and vessels are what they are and there is no surgical treatment that can fix it at this time. If it worsens in the near future they may be able to s tent or bypass the large vessels, but the small vessels that feed the heart are “toast”.
As for the pulmonary issues they will be running more tests in the future. On a slightslightly more positive note I had my Hernia repair surgery performed this week. It had been scheduled last year but was delayed because of Covid-19. Then it was delayed yet again because of my Heart surgery in December. I was infinformed by my surgeon that i made it just in time because next week they are stopping all outpatient / elective surgeries again due to the surge in COVID-19 infections!
I am recovering from that procedure right now and it Sucks! They lie about how painful it is! 😳😳. Anyway, I will be down for at least 8 weeks. Then its back to Cleveland for the pulpulmonary hypertension tests and treatment. Once i get a firm handle on whats going on and treatment that enables me to adjust again, I will be back wrestling y'all 😁🙏🤞🙏.
I will update the page as I get more information.
I miss everyone terribly and hope to get back to work as soon as I can.

Many of you are wondering when we will reopen. During our closure due to the worst of the Covid-19 outbreak, and while waiting on PPE supplies, my health decided to deteriorate on me 😁. I think most of y’all knew that I had issues with my cardiovascular system, and a few other organs. Most of all these issues were a direct result of my service in the Gulf War. I gave my life to my country, only I did it slowly 😂…lol. Anyway I am undergoing some more tests at the Cleveland Clinic and as soon as they can fix me up and keep me ticking!!!! I will try to get back to work. The timeline depends on a few things. Surgeries….Recoveries…etc.
I’m sorry that I have not been more forthcoming with information. It was a little depressing and hard to accept, because I have an over abundance of Testosterone, and suffer from a common disease of most Men…..Toxic Masculinity 😁. I kept thinking I’ll get over this quick…piece of cake…no problem. Kerri has been great, she keeps me focused and on task.
The VA…..they can ……well you fill in the ________ Blank. (Just be sure to use multiple 4 letter words).
I’ll either be back to work or Dead ! 🤣😂🤣😂. I’m shooting for the back to work 🤞🙏🤞🙏.

Many people are asking when we will be open again.
As of right now Monday 6 JULY 2020 I am still waiting for back ordered sanitizer that I need to clean the face cradles for patients.

Another factor that will determine our opening date is when West Virginia can gain control over the recent COVID 19 infectious explosion. There are quite a few people who still think this is a Hoax. It’s not, I really wish it were.
I read and keep up with Peer Reviewed medical research on this Virus, I don’t listen to garbage posted on MSNBC or FOX.

Very simple actions in the beginning could have stopped this so that we could be controlling it and not the other way around. It is an Airborne virus. Wear the mask, it’s not perfect but it will decrease transmission by 80% or better. No too many people had to be COOL and not wear protection, now here we are in this mess again.

Many of you know that my Service in the Military led to a few health issues.
My Immune system is Damaged from multiple Chemical exposure from Oil Fires to Burn Pits to Sarin and VX gas. This means that I must take extra precautions because there is no way to “Social Distance” with my work. I really want our infection numbers going DOWN not UP before we reopen.

I do apologize, I know how much it hurts not to get adjusted. I feel very bad that I can’t open yet. Please understand that I am trying my best to get the last of my supplies and once our Ducks are in order we will be opening.
I really miss all of you and can’t wait to get back in the swing of things.

ATTENTION PATIENTS:
We are presently trying to acquire the proper protective gear and disinfectant required by the CDC, the WV Medical Board and WV Chiropractic Board. We will let people know as soon as we get our supplies so that we can reopen.
