EHHD Health District The EHHD provides public health serves to 10 member towns in Northeastern CT

We are part of a county-wide collaboration to promote and improve access to healthy foods and opportunities for physical activity for everyone, every day. This collaboration is led by the Eastern Highlands Health District and the North Central District Health Department in partnership with many organizations, agencies, and individuals. Thanks for helping us spread the word about all the great ways to live a healthy lifestyle right here in the ten towns served by EHHD! The towns include Andover, Ashford, Bolton, Chaplin, Columbia, Coventry, Mansfield, Scotland, Tolland, and Willington.

Rubella was once called German Measles and Three-Day Measles.

Different names, but the same virus and the same risks.

Rubella is a contagious viral illness that can cause fever, headache, sore throat, and a rash. While symptoms are often mild, rubella can be very serious during pregnancy.

No matter what you call this virus, the MMR vaccine protects against it: Two doses of the MMR vaccine are 97% effective at protecting against rubella. MMR vaccine can’t be given during pregnancy so it’s important to make sure you’re immune prior to getting pregnant! 🛡
