Today is a great day to try something new. ☕

Step out of your routine, say yes to that coffee invite, or reach out to a friend you haven’t seen in a while. Take time for each other — to listen, to laugh, and to simply be present. Even small moments of connection can bring fresh perspective and renewed joy.

Life moves fast, but meaningful moments are often found when we slow down and make space for the people who matter most. Today, try something new by choosing connection.

Today we honor Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a time to reflect on the life, leadership, and legacy of Dr. King. His vision of justice, equality, and nonviolence continues to challenge us to build a society rooted in dignity and respect for all.

Dr. King reminded us that progress comes not only from words, but from action—serving others, standing up to injustice, and choosing courage over comfort. Let today be more than a day of remembrance. Let it be a day of service, reflection, and renewed commitment to creating positive change in our communities.

“Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve.”

In her will, the woman whose life was often a nonstop party allotted $2,500 to fund one last bash for her friends as "a final gesture of appreciation and farewell." On Oct. 26, 1970, friends and members of San Francisco's music community attended Janis Joplin's wake, a celebration of the life for one of rock's wildest stars.

Life moves fast, and one day you realize the moments you thought you’d get around to are the moments you miss the most.

Take the time. Slow down. Be present.

Take your daughters dancing, even if you have two left feet. Let them twirl, laugh, and remember that they were always worth showing up for. Take them jewelry shopping—not for the price tag, but for the memory of standing side by side, talking about life, dreams, and who they’re becoming.

Take your sons to that ballgame, even if the seats aren’t great and the weather isn’t perfect. Take them hunting, or to your favorite fishing spot. Let the silence speak. Let the stories come naturally. Let them remember how it felt to just be with you.

One day, they won’t remember the emails you answered or the hours you worked late.
They’ll remember how you made them feel.
They’ll remember that you showed up.

Time is the one thing you can’t get back—but you can choose how you spend it. Choose your kids. Every chance you get.

As the sun sets tonight, we come to the final day of Hanukkah 2025—a time to reflect on the miracles, the light, and the joy that this festival brings. For eight nights, we’ve gathered with loved ones, lighting our menorahs, sharing stories, and celebrating the strength of faith, perseverance, and hope.

The last candle shines brightly tonight, symbolizing the power of light in a world that sometimes feels dark. As we look at the flickering flames, let us remember the resilience of the Jewish people, the miracles of the past, and the warmth we bring to one another through love, tradition, and community.

May the spirit of Hanukkah continue to inspire us long after the last candle is extinguished. Here’s to carrying the light forward into the year ahead, spreading kindness, hope, and peace to all.

Wishing everyone a joyful and meaningful conclusion to this beautiful holiday.

🌟 Reflecting on Luke 2 this Christmas Eve 🌟

As we gather on Christmas Eve, we’re reminded of the beautiful story told in Luke 2—a story of hope, peace, and the miracle of Christ's birth.

In Luke 2:10-11, the angel tells the shepherds, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.”

This Christmas Eve, as we prepare to celebrate with loved ones, let us pause to remember the true meaning of the season—the birth of a Savior who brings peace to the world. Whether we're gathered around the tree, in quiet reflection, or at church, we can find joy in the gift of Christ's love.

May your hearts be filled with the same joy the shepherds felt as they received this good news. Let us carry that peace and hope with us into the Christmas Day and the year ahead.

Wishing you all a blessed and peaceful Christmas Eve.

Today, I baked cookies with my daughter, and for a little while, the world felt softer. Christmas has a way of doing that—of slowing time just enough to let memories rise with the warmth of the oven. As the cookies baked, the air filled with cinnamon and sugar, and I was carried back to my own childhood, standing on tiptoe in the kitchen with my mom and my grandmas, learning that love could be measured in teaspoons and patience.

Those simple moments—flour-dusted counters, shared laughter, hands working side by side—become the memories we hold onto the longest. Now, watching my daughter press cookie cutters into dough, I realize how traditions quietly weave generations together. Some of the people who taught me these rituals are no longer here, but in moments like this, they feel close, alive in the scents, the motions, and the joy passed down.

Christmas, to me, is found in these small, meaningful acts—memories made, memories remembered, and love carried forward. Do you have a favorite holiday memory? Maybe one that brings you back to someone special, even if they’re no longer with us.

❄️ On This Cold Winter’s Night – Winter Solstice 2025 ❄️

Tonight, as the winter solstice graces us with the longest night of the year, we find ourselves wrapped in the quiet stillness of a cold winter's evening. The world seems to slow down, bathed in the soft glow of moonlight and the crisp air that fills our lungs with each breath.

This night marks not only the darkest moment but also the beginning of the return of light. From here, each day will gradually grow longer, bringing with it the promise of brighter days ahead. In the midst of the cold, we are reminded that even the darkest times give way to warmth, growth, and renewal.

As we stand on this threshold of seasons, let us take a moment to appreciate the beauty of the stillness, the calm of the night, and the hope that the coming days will bring.

May the winter solstice bring peace, reflection, and a renewed sense of wonder as we embrace the journey into the new year.

Stay warm and safe. 🌙
