After reading Oliver Plays Hide and Seek, Oliver and his friends played again — this time in the school!

They practiced mindful seeing by carefully noticing what was around them.

Can you spot Lily, Cleo, and Oliver hiding nearby?

Snow Day Activity!

Create a snow-themed mood chart with emotions like:

❄️ Calm like soft snow
🌨 Frustrated like a storm
🌬 Tired like a chilly wind
☀️ Happy like sunshine

Children choose which weather matches their inside feelings.
Ask: What helps you change your weather if you want to?
This supports naming and navigating emotional states using metaphor.

This activity supports emotional literacy and self-awareness

Behind every photo of a smiling child is a classroom or family working hard to support focus, emotional development, and resilience.

Self-regulation is the foundation of whole child development. When students can calm their bodies, understand their emotions, and reset after challenges, they are more ready to learn, connect, and grow.

Our Charitable Fund was created to make these solutions accessible to more schools.

For Educators: If budget limitations are preventing your school from implementing focus and regulation strategies, you can apply for funding.

For Community Members: Your donation directly supports students and teachers by providing tools that build attention skills, emotional wellness, and a stronger sense of safety in the classroom.

Together, we can ensure that every child has access to the tools they need to feel calm, capable, and confident.

This week with our 2nd and 3rd grade classrooms, we spent time with *Dwight’s Little Buddy*… and let’s just say, this group can be a handful in the most wonderful way.

Before we even opened the story, students paired up for one minute to answer a simple question:

**“What does a good friend do?”**

The answers were thoughtful, funny, and surprisingly wise:

- “They laugh *with* you, not at you.”
- “They tell jokes.”
- “They sleep over and order food.”
- “You hold space in your heart for them.”

Hold space in your heart.

From an eight-year-old.

Moments like that remind us why building skills for handling big feelings and people skills matter so much in whole child development. When students are given space to pause and reflect, they often rise to it.

What stood out most this week was:

- Students eager to define what friendship means.
- A class learning that laughing *with* someone builds connection.
- A teacher noticing that slowing down could support attention skills and calm.

What did your students say this week that made you smile?

We’d love to hear your classroom moments below.

We’re excited to share that our Ready-to-Go Summer Storybook Kits are officially in the news!

Created for camps and summer programs, these kits help children build focus, emotional regulation, and skills for handling big feelings — all through engaging stories and simple, practical lessons.

Because when students learn how to pause, breathe, and notice what’s happening inside their bodies, everything changes.

If your summer program is looking for an easy-to-implement solution that supports whole child development, we invite you to read the full press release: https://mindbodyalign.com/news/mind-body-align-launches-ready-to-go-summer-storybook-kits-for-camps-and-programs/?utm_campaign=meetedgar&utm_medium=social&utm_source=meetedgar.com

Focus isn’t automatic — it’s a skill children can build.

In Lily’s Special Compass, students learn what it looks like to pause and use their senses instead of panic.

Sensory awareness gives students something concrete to do when they feel unsure, distracted, or unsettled.

When children learn to use their senses as tools:

• They slow down without being forced
• They re-engage
• They build confidence in their ability to solve problems

That’s not a behavior strategy. That’s whole child development.

Calm focus grows from the inside out.

Story-based learning makes these regulation strategies concrete, relatable, and repeatable — in ways that support teachers, without adding more to their plates.

Our Labyrinth Adventures crew has a special message for Valentine’s Day:
💬 “The bravest hearts are the ones that care.”

From mindful moments to helping hands, we’ve been learning how to build strong hearts — the kind that make friends feel safe, seen, and supported.

At St. Peter’s, love looks like:
💞 Breathing before reacting
💞 Including others at recess
💞 Saying “I’m sorry” and meaning it

No candy required — just courage and care.
💘 Happy Valentine’s Day from the heart of the labyrinth!

Big feelings are not the problem.
Not knowing what to do with them is.

In Tia Needs a Hug, students learn a simple but powerful progression:

Notice
“What is my body feeling right now?”

Understand
“Can I talk about what’s happening inside?”

Regulate
“What can I do to help my body feel safe?”

When children learn to pause and notice before reacting, behavior shifts naturally.

Self-regulation isn’t about compliance.
It’s about awareness.

And awareness builds safety — which builds readiness to learn.

Story-based learning makes these skills concrete, relatable, and repeatable in the classroom.

Kindness is the best path forward.

Whether it’s helping a friend, listening with your whole heart, or sharing a quiet moment in the calm corner — love and compassion are at the heart of everything we do.

Today at St. Peter’s, our students are choosing kind words, kind actions, and kind hearts.
Because every great adventure starts with connection.

Looking to track kindness at home or in the classroom - give our Kindness Bingo a go!

“So much joy across all four classrooms! Students loved the song *[If You’re Cleo and You Know It]* and their bracelets. When asked what they learned from the labyrinth, one student proudly said, ***‘We went on so many adventures!’*** They were able to recall previous lessons, breathing tools, and skills they’ve been building—plus lots of giggles and a few hugs along the way”

I'd love to hear about your classroom joy moments. Comment below.

Snow Day Activity!

When big feelings swirl, snow breathing helps us find stillness. ❄️

Invite children to imagine snowflakes gently falling on their hand.
🌬 As they breathe in, picture the snowflake landing…
💨 As they breathe out, imagine blowing it softly away.

Try 5 “snow breaths” together. Then ask:
💭 “How does your body feel now?”
🧠 “When else could you use this?”

This regulation skill is simple, visual, and comforting—perfect for snow days, test days, or bedtime.

Transforming lives through mindfulness.

Mind Body Align is your hub for mindfulness education. We transform lives through mindfulness. Mind Body Align’s training meets you wherever you are: in our beautiful facility, online at your convenience, or in your school or place of business. There is a mindfulness program that is perfect for every child and every adult.

Mindfulness teaches attention control, self-awareness, and emotion regulation. For many people, including children, mindfulness is the missing piece to social-emotional learning and is now a part of most required school curriculums. By targeting three key skills, attentional control, self-awareness, and emotion regulation, MBA’s MBAwareness Educational Program builds student self-regulation to a greater extent than social emotional programs alone. Self-regulation allows students to think clearly enough to choose a strategy they learned in their social and emotional learning curriculum. SEL teaches those skills, but students don't know how to pause in order to access them. We help them learn, and practice, allowing it to be a habit and a part of their regular behaviors.

MBA also serves professionals. People all over the world engage with MBA to learn from the wise individuals who share their mindful, wise thoughts on our blog, and join our workshops and programs.

It all comes back to mindfulness. Fitness, relationships, job advancement, job satisfaction, anxiety, focus, reducing or eliminating PTSD, dealing with trauma – all are improved with sustained mindfulness practice. Ask us about the many studies which show students learn more and test scores improved after mindfulness education; similarly, adults are more productive and satisfied in their work and home life.
