Gates will open tomorrow by noon and remain open until mother nature's next wrath.

Today our grounds crew is working on tending new burials this year and making sure they are staked for visibility. It has been over two weeks since we've been able to get to and see new burials to check for ground settling.

Below is a photo of the grounds yesterday. The open area has about 50 bevel headstones that are not visible. Even though we didn't have an opportunity to get into the cemetery today, we can see there was a lotta meltin' goin' on. We'll check the grounds in the morning. We anticipate opening the gates tomorrow. Check back here tomorrow for a post stating the gates are open. (the photo was taken in section 49 just up the hill from our cremation columbariums)

After the crew assessment of the grounds today, the administrator has opted to keep the gates closed. Most of the lower bevel headstones are still covered by snow and pose a tripping hazard.

VISITING
Anyone wanting to visit a loved one is welcome to make an appointment with the office and we'll be happy to take you into the cemetery and help you locate them, with snowbrush in tow. First come first serve.

FUNERALS
Funerals are still being scheduled as normal. If attending a funeral please keep in mind that the roads are more narrow than normal. Once we're able to see all the headstones at the road we'll be able to clear the roads more.

CLEANUP
At this time every year we ask everyone to pick up decorations in preparation for our annual cleanup that starts March 1st. This is when decorations should already have been removed. Due to the snow cover, if you would like us to pick up your decorations and save them for you, let us know the name of the loved one with a decorated burial plot and we'll be happy to retrieve them for you.

Gates are still closed. We are still working on getting the rest of the snow covered roads plowed as well as the the snow drifts from the past few days. We also have services to get ready for. Unfortunately in these conditions getting ready for one burial takes most of the day. Not only do we have to dig the grave in frozen ground but we also have to prep the burial site for the family and out equipment by finding and uncovering all of the low headstones so they don't get broken, cause a walking hazard or pop a tire on the equipment. So we are currently taking it day by day. We thank everyone for their patience and understanding.

Our parking lot to the north of the office is plowed and the office is open. Keep in mind that because the snow covered low headstones pose walking hazards, we currently won't be showing spaces to anyone who wishes to purchase one. However if anyone is interested in pre-planning their final arrangements feel free to stop in, grab a cup of coffee, and get the process started.

In preparation for the upcoming winter storm, the gates will close tomorrow between noon and 2pm. Expect them to remain closed through at least Monday. The office will not be open to customer walk-ins on Monday however we will be answering phones. Stay safe and warm.
