I may have a place lined up to start meetings back up. I should know later this coming week. The day might have to be different than before depending on when the place is available. Let me know what days and times are good so I can let them know.

Found out about this late last night. If anyone can make it please attend. We need to pack the room with trans people and our allies. We need to make it clear that you don't attack our trans youth siblings. They are not a pawn for political gains. They are not people to be afraid of. Everything they state in this is a lie. It's time to educate the conservative, religious right with real facts and information. Its time to stop the lies and hatred. What do trans youth want to do in a bathroom? Use the facilities. They aren't looking to attack girls in the bathroom. They aren't trying to intimidate, scare or bully anyone. Some how the right has become obsessed with kids and teens ge****ls. Maybe we should ask them why. Do they know that biological s*x is so much more complicated than xx and xy. They chose to ignore scientists, doctors and therapists. The very people who are experts in trans Healthcare.
If you can't make it I understand. Please pass the word around. I'll be there to give our trabs youth a voice. To represent this group. I'll be there as an ordained minister. I'll be there as an out, proud transgender woman.

The protest tomorrow is at 25 South Front Street Columbus.

Tuesday morning at 8 their is a protest at the State School Board. It is against the hateful and harmful proposed idea that Trans students must be outed to their parents, they must use school facilities of their assigned birth gender and to ban trans girls from playing sports. This is once again an extremist attempt to erase trans people. It's as usual based on misinformation and lies.
We need to let them know that this is not how to treat Trans youth. That this can cause more trauma, mental health issues and possibly death to our trans youth. This goes against their constitutional rights to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. Once again they are using trans youth a as a political pawn to stir up the religious, right voting base. Trans youth are not harming anyone by being their authentic, true self. The only thing trans youth want and need is the same as cis youth. Love, a place to live, a quality education, a safe place to talk, food and competent medical care. Is that really too much to ask for?

Are people interested in meetings? I've had nobody respond and wondering if this group should continue. We won't be in the parade this year or have a booth. I don't know if I'm working that weekend yet. I don't want to be the only person to show up.

Today is Trans Visibility day. It's a day to celebrate what trans folx have accomplished this past year. It's about being visible so that people see that we are no different than the cisgender population. This year I will be celebrating in Columbus with T-Talks and TransOhio. I'll be one of 7 speakers at the OSU student union. I'm so honored to be part of the amazing speakers tonight. Today and everyday let trans folx know that you love, support them and are a safe person for them. Speak out when you hear anti-trans speech. We need our allies to be that when we aren't around.

I will start meetings back up on March 13th. If interested message here and I'll give you the info.

I'm seriously considering ending this group. I've had little to no input from the community. Nobody has shown interest in this group continuing. If people are interested in it continuing I need to know. As it is right now I see no reason to start group back up..

Testimonials

2 years ago, my child came to me, with this look of fear in his eyes, and said mom I need to tell you something. I am transgender. Oh, those eyes, those beautiful and scared blue eyes. I stood there for a moment processing what had just come out of my child's mouth, unsure how to act, not sure what to say, or even how to feel. All I knew was that in front of me as a child begging me to hear him, to understand what he was saying. I asked a thousand stupid questions. They weren't stupid to me at the time but thinking back I realize how crazy I must have sounded, how unsupported my child must have felt in that moment. I asked him about 300 times, are you sure, seriously 300 times or MORE. Not because I refused to believe, not because I didn't support him, but because I was lost as to what that even meant. Simply put, my girl - - was a boy!

He talked, his dad and I talked, we sought out information on the web, to understand what this meant, what he was going through. This was all brand new to me. I searched everywhere including Facebook, which I found a ton of great information, and this group Positive Progressions. I reached out to ask questions, to try to get information from someone on the group and what it was about, and this amazing, person, this woman who didn't know me at all, welcomed me, so openly and talked to me about any questions or concerns I had. It was a while after all of this, that my son and I ended up going to the group, I am so very glad that we did. It’s really hard into put what this group has meant to us into words, but I am going to try! What we found was more than friends it was a family, it was people who accepted my son, and me into their room, into their hearts, and into their group. Kelli, the leader of this group, I have reached out to even when not in group, just for a friend, for an ear, for some guidance, when I am scared, angry or when we my son came out to family, and that went really bad, Kelli was there, to listen. The whole group has such amazing people, that get together every month, and just support each other! It is refreshing in such a small town, to know that my son and I have this group to look forward to, to get together and talk about our highs and lows, to share victories, to lean on each other for support. I am sure I could do this alone but having these amazing people on my side sure makes it a lot easier. My child and I look forward to going to this group every month!! If you are looking for people, who will be there to listen, to support, to love you unconditionally, reach out, you won’t be sorry.
