One of the coolest things is being told that Messy Minds is being used as a tool for mental health. I am truly greatful to hear that the podcast gets mentioned at the operational level in the classroom at one of the biggest ambulances companies. Thank you thank you Megan Rizzo

Every parents worst nightmare. It has made me incredibly sick to my stomach reading this and trying with every bit of my sole to not imagine it. Our entire hearts and soles go out to everyone of those family members. What an incredibly dark day in history. Please let schimp and I know if anyone is in need of absolutely anything.

Six years since you and I sat at the VST counter talkin about lifting, music and the world around us. I got to see and talk to you at the beginning and end of all my shifts instantly making them better. You and I would just talk about everything that was bothering us or exciting us at those moments. I will never forget your laugh brother and I will never forget our conversations. To this day I pretend that you got on with some fire department that is far from here and you are living your best life. You touched so many’s peoples lives and will always be apart of mine. You are one of the biggest reason I started my podcast and I fu***ng wish everyday I can have you on as a guest. But like I said this isn’t goodbye but rather see you again. Hopefully sitting to continue our conversations. Love you for ever brother.

Well I believe this could be a one of the most important episode to be uploaded. Got to interview the youngest guest yet. I believe it’s important for the fact of how young she sounds telling these stories. To be reminded how young we were when we started and the things we have witnessed at such a young age. I don’t believe anyone should go through or see what we see at any age but it’s important to show where our mental state was and is when we started this career. Give it a listen and I challenge you to go the whole episode with an open mind of where you started. Definitely give your feedback after. And as always thanks for listening.

Well we got this hunk of meat on our podcast finally. Rich has been in EMS for 31 years. Starting from a fire intern then EMT, Paramedic, to supervisor. His knowledge and experience is perfect to get a grand understanding of everything anyone will go through in the field. To much for one episode and will have on again soon enough.

Well it’s been a crazy month for everyone. We decided to take a break and reassess everything. We decided to spend that time to enjoy the holidays with our families and think about how we wanted to take our podcast to the next level. We have found that this is not just important to us but also important to so many of you. We want to keep the message going and we want to keep reaching people in those dark places. We take this very serious and have decided to make it a priority to do an episode a week even if it’s just one of us talking or all three plus a guest. COVID is a crazy time and we will work through it. All we can do is thank you guys once again for hanging in there with us. We love how you guys took the break we had and caught up on all episodes quickly moving us from 1500 to over 1600 downloads. You guys are amazing and we don’t take you guys for granted. We will be uploading our latest episode tonight. And we will make sure to keep them coming. Thank you all.

Episode 9 is finally up. We went a little different because this COVID crap and it is just us three talking a little more about us and where we would like to see this go. Plus giving thanks to all of you who have been reaching out and listening. We have had so many good things being brought to us by you guys. And trying to get a good schedule of guest on to keep pushing the message out. This episode is kinda a light vent fun session that was for us but also to give you a chance to feel like your at the table with us. We have a great message at the end and prelude to our next episode where we get to read and talk about a very important letter we received from one of you. Thank you guys again for being patient with us and still giving us amazing feed back. During this forced break I have heard so much more from you guys with stories and how you guys are dealing with things. It’s all been beautiful and all inspiring. So thank you thank you. And stay tuned.

IT WAS ONLY A DREAM. last while on shift I found my self in one of the most realistic dreams I have had at work. (I work 24hr shifts so yes we do have beds here.)In my dream it started off that I was at work and I had just gotten a call. We go code 3 to a PT not breathing call unknown age. As my partner is mapping me to the call I’m realizing that we are going to my house. When I pull up fire is on scene already and my supervisor is as well. They tell me to calm down and everything will be ok. I hear the doors of the ambulance slam behind me and the ambulance is driving away with one of my girls. I start sprinting after it trying to stop it so I can be there for her. I’m screaming at the top of my lungs but nothing was coming out. The ambulance turns the corner and I fall to my knees feeling helpless. As I sat there looking at the moon because my little Scarlett always looks at the moon with me I begin to ball. Then with out fail the real sounds of my station tones go off pulling out of that hell that was only a dream. My hands were sweating. My heart racing and my lungs felt cold like I had been running outside. I shot up and went out to the ambulance and had to make sure the call we just got wasn’t at my address. Of course it was not and it was just for a simple call. I still had to sit in the drivers seat with the very real feeling my little girl is at the hospital. I closed my eyes and took five deep breaths to tell myself it was not real and pull your head in the game you have a call to go to. The breathing helped. And after we ran the call I sat in the ambulance outside the hospital telling myself don’t wake your wife up at 4am to see if they are ok because it was only a dream. The sh*tty thing about our minds is that it makes things very real for a moment. It cased my heart to race my hands to sweat and my lungs to hurt. And also left me with the real feeling that my girl was in the hospital. Your brain can be a vivid bitch sometimes. It took me taking deep ass breaths to ease my mind. I was not able to go back to sleep after that as my mind had raced away from me. So when I clocked out I decided to go for a run. This is my view as I run.
