Who are these numbers for? Whose approval am I trying to gain?

It feels good to go fast and show someone… but it’s fleeting.

So what actually sticks? What actually needs to be at the forefront of why I push myself? It’s certainly not approval of others.

It’s gratitude- for what my body can do.

It’s honor- for the gift of this human experience.

It’s joy- for the excitement that running gives me.

It’s responsibility- for the children that rely on me.

It’s respect- for myself.

So every once in a while, let’s let the watch die. Let’s look at the deeper meaning behind why we MOVE and enjoy the gift of health we currently have.

Stop waiting for motivation. Build a machine instead. 🛠️🔥

Consistency isn’t a personality trait; it’s a data set. If you’re tired of starting over every Monday, you don’t need more willpower… you need a tracking system that makes progress undeniable. 👊🏼

I use a simple 3-Pillar System to gamify my fitness and stay locked in. Here is exactly how to build it:

1. The Setup (The Excel Method)

Open a spreadsheet. List every date of the month in the first column. Create three columns next to it:

💪🏼 Strength: Did you hit at least 20 minutes? Mark it with a 1

🧘🏻‍♀️ Yoga: Did you flow for at least 20 minutes? Mark it with a 1

🏃🏻‍♀️ Miles: Enter your total distance (walked or run)

2. The Goal & The Graph

At the top of every month, set your targets (ex: 12 strength sessions, 40 miles, 8 yoga flows). Create a box with the totals that updates as you input your data. Watching that number climb toward your goal is the ultimate dopamine hit. ✨

3. The Calendar Lock

Data tracking only works if you show up. Every Sunday night, block out your workouts in your digital calendar. If it’s scheduled, it’s a meeting with yourself that you can’t cancel.

4. Be Your Own Competition

The magic happens when the month ends. Use your totals to set the benchmark for next month. Can you hit 42 miles instead of 40? Can you turn one more “0” into a “1”?

Stop guessing if you’re working hard enough. Look at the numbers. 📈
