When Artiera and Vishakha met in a birth & parenting class at North - Maple Grove Hospital last May, they instantly clicked and kept in touch as their due dates got closer. Little did they know, their babies would arrive on the same day - and less than two hours apart.

The morning that Artiera’s water broke, she drove herself to the hospital unsure if it was a false alarm but soon got confirmation the baby was on the way. Meanwhile, Vishakha texted, “I think my water broke too. Keep me posted so I know what to expect next!" Vishakha got her nails painted blue while she waited for her labor to progress, and by noon, both moms were admitted just down the hall from one another. They popped into each other’s rooms to say hi and hang out during early labor, and the next day their baby boys met for the first time. 💙💙

They’ve gotten together once since, and it’s been the beginning of a beautiful friendship - one that reminds us that the best support can come from someone who’s walking the same path (or delivering in the room down the hall). 💫

As soon as our 70,000th baby made its arrival last Saturday, our Family Birth Center teams were ready to celebrate with a POP themed cart! 🎉 They made the rounds, delivering on-theme goodies like popcorn, cake pops, and soda pop to mark the occasion in a memorable way.

Congratulations to this team on an incredible milestone in caring for the community!

Over the weekend, we had the joy of welcoming baby Hugo, who made his early debut as the 70,000th baby born at our hospital! 👶 After spending a few weeks in our antepartum unit, proud parents Kelly and Todd finally got to meet their beautiful bundle of joy - and what a moment it was, as Hugo’s arrival marks a major milestone in our journey of care, compassion, and community.

To every family who has trusted us with their most precious moments as we celebrate 15 years of North - Maple Grove Hospital, thank you. And to Hugo: welcome to the world, little one! You’ve already made history. 💙
