Are there days/times that work better for you? I am relatively flexible as long as it's during daytime hours, so let me know! I am open to trying different days and times if you're wanting to join me and these times aren't a good fit for you. :)

Let's play with some intentional and functional movement together!

Feeling under the weather. It can be easy for me to stay hunkered down in my bed on days like this. Today, I was able to move out of my room and onto my back deck for some super gentle breath and movement and rest practice in the sun. The birds and insects and wind chimes were a delightful soundtrack. Grateful, yet again, for the ways that Mama Nature provides what I need. 🌎🌍🌏

What’s one of YOUR favorite comfort meals that is also nutrient dense? I strongly believe that pleasure and play are essential nutrients and this meal brings me so much pleasure! And I feel supported for hours after I eat it. 🤩

One of my goals in life is to show up more fully as I am in the present moment. Right now? That looks like me, exhausted and needing to go brush my teeth, use the toilet, and close my curtains so I can go to sleep, but feeling too tired to do so. Sometimes, the exhaustion hits so hard that “small tasks” feel nigh on impossible. So, here I am. Going to do some small movement to help my nervous system engage with these final wind down steps with a sense of safety and calm then hopefully drifting off to sleep. We will see what perimenopause has to say about that, though. 🤪

Here's the thing. My answer to this is going to be so much "deeper" than a simple "yes"/"no". If that's what you're looking for, I get it. Often, we want a clear response. And? The experience of being a human is rarely either/or. If you're open to exploration, I invite you to inhale & then let it go while opening your whole BEing.

1. You're not broken. There is nothing to "fix". Symptoms/conditions arise due to a variety of inputs. They are not our "fault" or something to be ashamed of. Some of those inputs are things we can adjust & shift with practice over time (breath/movement/postural patterns, dietary choices, boundaries in relationships), which can ease our symptoms/conditions. Other inputs are mostly out of our hands (aging, social/cultural systems that haven't changed yet, having kids, needing to work, etc.).

2. Symptoms/conditions aren't static. Our wise bodies are always adapting to keep us alive, prioritizing efficiency & survival. Because you're experiencing a symptom/condition now does not mean you always will be. And because you haven't experienced something doesn't mean it won't happen at some point in the future. Experiences of symptom flares will come & go. The invitation is to do what we know to be supportive, then let go of expectations around results while being open to shifting when what is supportive changes. Because it will.

3. You may be thinking, "Why would I engage with your classes/1:1 sessions if you won't guarantee the healing of a symptom/condition?" I hear you. I have these thoughts sometimes about tools I know to be supportive. Especially when I'm in the midst of a symptom flare up. One thing having autoimmune conditions & other lifelong health related "companions" has taught me is that sometimes simply showing up, connecting with my body-self with compassion & curiosity, & acting with Loving intention supports me the most. This is at the heart of each of my offerings. Powerful core & pelvic floor & full body strength/function building exercises will always be present. Also, each offering is an invite into exploring a deeper, whole BEing connective & creative experience.
