We welcome beloved teacher and student Lisa Breen into the BSY 1000 Club with 1,904 classes at the studio!!

Why did you begin yoga & when? I was thinking of starting yoga after visiting a friend who worked at Kripalu and because my knees were starting to ache from running every morning for 20 plus years. Then I noticed the sign of opening soon on Baker St and as soon as I realized the studio was open, I began attending classes. So, my yoga journey mirrors the studio’s in large part.

What keeps you coming back to BSY? I love the community of Baker Street. I love that the teachers are not clones.

Favorite yoga pose? My favorite poses are half-moon and seated butterfly with a forward fold.

What is one thing we don’t know about you? I think you know this, but my parents moved from South Orange to Maplewood in 1968 and almost since then I have been living in houses that are walking distance to the Village. In high school, I worked at the Roman Gourmet. My grandkids are fifth generation SOMA. And I am so happy that my dream to yoga more and lawyer less is finally coming to fruition!
