We’re letting our Women’s History Month spotlight series carry into April—because we have so many incredible women residents to celebrate!

Like Liz Kalodner, who is last but certainly not least in this series. Her story is as bold and dynamic as the generations of women she represents. Liz built an extraordinary career that included serving as CEO of an online dating company and leading merchandise for major sports teams—all while breaking barriers in industries where women were often underrepresented.

Her journey has taken her around the world—from pitching international TV concepts to sharing a stage with Mother Teresa—and is filled with unforgettable moments that reflect both resilience and a sense of adventure.

Through it all, Liz has remained grounded in one of her guiding mottos: “Show up for people and try to do the right thing”—a powerful reminder of the strength and impact of women everywhere.

💜Supporting the Fight Against Alzheimer’s 💜

Thank you to Abigale Roberts for leading our annual Alzheimer’s fundraising efforts. Together, we’re working toward our 2026 goal of $4,999!

On Friday, Theresa Daniels, Abigale, Raiyana Wright, and Monique Johns (left to right) hosted a bake sale for our team and residents. The event raised $291, bringing our total so far to $818.

The drive will end on May 17, and the proceeds will be donated to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

Ms. Ekhardt's books have won James Beard and Julia Child awards, and she was the first food editor of Texas Monthly! She was central to the first bread revolution in the early nineties with the celebrated book, "Bread in Half The Time."
