Reiki is the most medically studied and scientifically documented method of energy healing. As a Reiki Universal Life Force Master Teacher, I have given Reiki to hundreds of people including at UMC and with Dr. Andrew Weil's center at the School of Integrative Medicine, as well as hospice and individuals at my healing center. Images I have show real results! Reiki can do no harm. It clears, balances and heals on the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and energetic levels. Reiki is equally effective from a distance. And learning Reiki for yourself means you can do this work for yourself and help friends and family. I'm happy to send you more information supporting its benefits or on trainings. judyferrig@comcast.net, 520-245-4214. Fee is 15% off regular Reiki healing session or Reiki training. Session or training can be done remotely with equally good results; special must be used by March 31, 2022.

A Reiki student of mine sent this parable to me, and I thought it worthwhile forwarding...

Anthony R Mack Jr. September 2021

The donkey told the tiger, "The grass is blue."
The tiger replied, "No, the grass is green ."
The discussion became heated, and the two decided to submit the issue to arbitration, so they approached the lion.
As they approached the lion on his throne, the donkey started screaming: ′′Your Highness, isn't it true that the grass is blue?"
The lion replied: "If you believe it is true, the grass is blue."
The donkey rushed forward and continued: ′′The tiger disagrees with me, contradicts me and annoys me. Please punish him."
The king then declared: ′′The tiger will be punished with 3 days of silence."
The donkey jumped with joy and went on his way, content and repeating ′′The grass is blue, the grass is blue..."
The tiger asked the lion, "Your Majesty, why have you punished me, after all, the grass is green?"
The lion replied, ′′You've known and seen the grass is green."
The tiger asked, ′′So why do you punish me?"
The lion replied, "That has nothing to do with the question of whether the grass is blue or green. The punishment is because it is degrading for a brave, intelligent creature like you to waste time arguing with an ass, and on top of that, you came and bothered me with that question just to validate something you already knew was true!"
The biggest waste of time is arguing with the fool and fanatic who doesn't care about truth or reality, but only the victory of his beliefs and illusions. Never waste time on discussions that make no sense. There are people who, for all the evidence presented to them, do not have the ability to understand. Others who are blinded by ego, hatred and resentment, and the only thing that they want is to be right even if they aren’t.
When IGNORANCE SCREAMS, intelligence moves on

Below is a recent—and thought provoking post—from Gail Minogue, the numerologist whose work I share often with you. It’s key message is that we each need to speak out and share our truth about what we want for the future for our country. It’s not up to someone else or to some other group…each of us needs to understand and address what is at stake. With light, Judy Ferrig

Can It Happen Here?
Greetings and Happy New Year of 2022. Glad to see 2021 move on. It was a No. 5 year and 5 is all about change, both destructive and constructive. It became more nutty as the year went on. Sometimes it felt as if we all were in armed camps. It gave us an excuse to be rude, loud, stupid and scary. We bring these qualities into 2022. We are in a No. 6 year and that is a different energy than the 5 but it’s a tough starting and much is at stake.
I think the nation as a whole will have to ask itself if it is worth saving. If the answer is yes, then we need to not be so complacent and allow the lies, bad behavior and the extreme politicizing of science, local government and religion to be used as a weapons. Since the January 6th mob run on the capitol, when crazed individuals tried to disrupt the certification of the duly elected president, Joe Biden, about 7 in 10 Republicans continue to deny Biden’s legitimacy as President. 47% of Republicans describe the attack on Congress as an act of patriotism and 56% were “defending freedom”. 40% of Republicans say that violence against the government is sometimes justified. 23% of Democrats and 41% of Independents say the same. Since 1995, the support of the use of violence has risen to 34% from only 10%.
A survey on January 4th, found 83% of Americans are worried about the future of America’s democracy. 71% say it is weaker than it was 4 years ago. Overall, two-thirds of Americans regard US democracy as threatened and only 1/3rd believe it is secure.
On top of this we have attacks on the electoral system, particularly with those officials charged with overseeing and certifying vote count. Some even assert their legislatures alleged constitutional authority to set aside the popular vote and select their own slates of electors. It goes on and on. We have weak reform of the the Electoral Count Act of 1887. We have antiquated electoral laws and ramshackle voting procedures which can increase the chances of more violence in the next presidential election.
Some may feel as the German Jews might have felt in the 1920’s and early 30’s. Some people knew this time was different and prepared to leave Germany. Most didn’t believe the worst case could seriously happen. Most couldn’t conceive it. They had been through bad things before and always managed to get through them. Surely, our good neighbors and friends won’t believe unscrupulous demagogues! Wasn’t everyone a “good” German?
We all know the answer. We can’t conceive that this could happen here.
For those of you are familiar with “The Prince” by Machiavelli, go back and read how manipulation controls the masses. I also recommend the book “The Ruthless Leader–Three Classics of Strategy and Power” by Alistair McAlpine. Definitely, read the second part on “The Servant“. Your hair might stand on end as you read the techniques of gaining power, the ability to tell a complete falsehood and make the people believe it to be true and much more. Fascinating and effective. It even brings in the 3rd part on the Art of War. “What could a fifth-century B.C. Chinese general’s treatise on military strategy and a fifteenth-century Florentine satirist/philosopher’s essay on how to be an effective potentate have in common with advice from a former Treasurer and Deputy Chairman of Margaret Thatcher’s Conservative Party? More to the point, what could these texts contain that would be of value to a businessperson trying to get ahead in today’s volatile, globalized business world? Quite a bit, as it turns out. The Prince, The Servant, and The Art of War are unrivaled sources for anyone who seeks to understand the elaborate, often brutal, rituals of strategic conduct in any day and age. Each was written by an undeniably perceptive observer of humanity, and each offers unvarnished truths about human nature, especially as it expresses itself in an organization-whether it be political, military, or corporate. In each classic, the author builds on his experiences to develop timeless principles for exploiting human foibles in order to promote one’s own self-interest, while at the same time doing what is best for the organizational bottom line.”
Once you read “The Servant” or the 2nd part of this book, you will understand the fatal mistake Trump made and why he lost the election.
So my friends, if you think America, with its’ incredible birth chart and land as well as location can’t do itself in, you would be wrong. It has not matured enough yet to put the union back in unity. If the union can’t be saved, then all those yelling about individual rights and parents insisting on telling schools what they can and cannot teach, will be yesterday’s news. We can have a bunch of individual states passing vigilante laws such as in Texas. Question to ask yourselves is how would all these individuals states operate on the international stage? If Russia or China wanted to invade, which states would send in their militias? How about trade laws? How about social safety nets for the elderly, sick and infirmed state residents?
Do we want to preserve democracy and the union or do we want to wait until they burn the books? Pay attention to the numbers and the science. What changes must we make to bring a nation of assimilation and constructive changes into being? A country is known by how it treats those who are old and disabled. Those, who no longer can go to work but at one time took care of us and worked very hard for our future, are abandoned in “warehouses”. We will all go in the same direction one day.
In the words of Martin Niemoller, 1946 German Pastor
"First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me."
We must all put down our complacency and become active in overturning poorly written laws, unqualified candidates, corruption in our leaders and become wise citizens and enlightened beings. Welcome 2022.

Thought you might be interested in the following summary of notes I read from a recent Reiki conference…. With light, Judy

“…At a recent conference at the United Kingdom Reiki conference, several speakers spoke on Reiki. Noted physicist, Francis Vendrell suggested that Reiki is a coherent electromagnetic field that removes disorder, or entropy, from the mind-body. Apparently, as well as telling a client that they are receiving a lot of Reiki energy, it would also be correct to say correct to say, “You are releasing a lot of entropy (disorder) thanks to Reiki.”

A newly published research study from Turkey (Buyukbayram and Saritas, Explore: The Journal of Science and Healing, 2020) reported that pain and fatigue experienced by 60 cancer patients who received three days of Reiki was significantly reduced compared to that experienced by 60 cancer patients who did not receive Reiki.

Reiki is being used at St George’s Hospital, London, UK (the largest teaching hospital in London) in a new program, Reiki Medic Care, in which Reiki is provided remotely by teams of Reiki practitioners, on four consecutive days, to frontline physicians, nurses and paramedics who choose to sign up for it. Although the program has only just started, doctors are already commenting on how much Reiki is reducing their stress, and some are signing up for more sessions and even wanting to learn it for themselves! In exchange they are asked to complete a short questionnaire addressing their symptoms before and after treatment to provide us with much needed research data on distant Reiki…”

Discover and Use Universal Laws over Man Made Laws – Gail Minogue
If you live long enough and have had enough hard-knock experiences, you begin to really and seriously wonder if there isn’t an easier way to live. My personal experiences have touched on prosperity, higher consciousness and all the myriad expressions of rising above the tests we get while being human. There were always universal laws but the man-made laws just seemed so real and so urgent. We respond to them first and when things get tough, we look at the universal laws and hopefully, find answers. They just seem so etheric and intangible that we fall back in the trap of man-made laws. Here are a few expressions of Universal Laws that might help you in your daily routines.
First of all, get clear on what you want. Give it some serious consideration. No wishy washy, rosy colored glasses stuff. Organize your ideas. Become more like nature, be disciplined and orderly. Nature doesn’t waste nor is anything lost.
No indecisiveness. Don’t ask your “guides” what you should choose or do. You are given free will choice here. “They” want to know what you want. Think on paper, get out of your head and write down your 3 top choices using pen or pencil.
Stop going by the world of appearances. See with your mind’s eye rather than your physical eyes. Demand more. When people demand more, more appears. There is no lack in the universe. Supply is abundant. It is just waiting for you to direct it and form what you want. Notice we went from horse and buggy to a car. Now we have cars that run on batteries. Supply is abundant.
Humans will remain poor as long as their demands of life are meager and see life as a struggle, toil, hardship and filled with limitations. Countries remain poor because that is what is the thinking of those who live in them.
Do not fret or worry about where your next dollar is coming from. Stop fretting about supply! Worry, fear and fretting tend to restrict and limit supply. It closes off the flow. We dare not do it. This is really a stretch. It is especially true if you live in the world of appearance where everything seems so dire and the landlord is at the door.
Stop trying to figure out the “how”. It is not your job to tell the universe “how” it is to be done except that it be done under grace and for your highest and best good. Remember, everything here is working for your good. Even if you are in the hole, facing the worst, keep seeing from your inner vision what it is really your desire and believe that it is already on its way to you.
Educate your mind to a greater and larger state of thinking. When we think and “realize” more abundance, we shall receive more abundantly. It is not your job or your vocation that determines your riches. It is the demands we make of our vocation that determine our riches.
It is wiser to not reinvent the wheel. It is better to get a good start by getting help rather than slowly and arduously self-educating. We can spend lots of money and time trying to take another class or learn a new skill when all we had to do was get help. I know my limits on tasks I don’t want to do or I am not good at doing. I get someone who knows more than I do and pay them. This helps me and them. I know my time is very valuable and I am not going to slowly evolve into certain areas when it is not the best use of my time. Arduously self-educating is not always a good idea. With help, we can rapidly make progress.
Always build upwards. Watch nature, she doesn’t build downhill. It is always upward.
Guard every thought. NEVER EXPECT A THINK YOU DO NOT WANT. Form a clear and well-defined picture of what you want. Desire it firmly and gently sending good in that direction.
It is no use to desire a thing unless YOU EXPECT TO GET IT--either in part or in whole. Desire without expectation is just wishing and dreaming. Don’t waste your time. Don’t ask for something and then worry you won’t get it.
Do not confuse money with supply. Money is just one of the numerous forms of supply. Focus on ABUNDANCE rather than just money. Supply is like clay, you mold it by your mind and your focus.
Surround yourself with people who are not in “limited straits”. Stay in environments where there is beauty and abundance. This is critical. If you are not in that space, change your thinking and focus on the environment you want. Be clear and have the faith that it is being created now for you.
Everything is in the now. Learn to act as you would become. If you want more abundance in your life, act abundantly. Tip generously. Be wise in your investment of your time, energy and money. Remember Universal Laws are permanent and never fail. Man-made laws will always change.

Here is something that got me thinking about how significant a day this coming Thursday is. I share it with you with thanks. Below is a compilation of suggestions on…
Practices to Cultivate a Truly Grateful Thanksgiving – Courtesy of Gratefulness.Org
Begin your day by noticing your breath. Try to tune in to your breath before you get out of bed in the morning, before you even open your eyes. Notice the fact that you’re breathing. You’ve awoken to a new day, and you’re alive. Tune in to the way your body naturally inhales and exhales, about 1000 times an hour. Remember this gift of breath as precious and never a guarantee; it is something shared with all living beings. What arises when you remember this truth? How might gratefully tuning in to your breath change the way you awaken to the day? Take time to tell someone in your life you appreciate them and why. Perhaps it’s someone you live with, someone who lives elsewhere whom you call or talk with virtually, a neighbor, or someone whose services are “essential” to you and others. If it’s someone you’re not able to connect with verbally at this time, perhaps you could write a letter or send an eCard. How does it feel to articulate your appreciation for someone? What happens in your body and your heart? How does it impact your sense of belonging? Other approaches you might take include:
o Explore, read aloud, and share this collection of Thanksgiving Blessings from voices around the globe, as you deepen a commitment to gratefulness for the gifts of life.
o Enjoy these grateful living conversation starters for your virtual or in-person gathering. These prompts also work well for individual reflection or journaling.
o Give thanks for what you have been given,” says Robin Wall Kimmerer. We invite you to watch the beautiful, short video below — alone or with others — and to take time to give thanks for the sources of our nourishment. If you’re fortunate enough to have healthy food to eat on this day, how does your experience change when you pause to give thanks to the plants themselves and to honor all those whose labor and love have made this food possible?
o “Grateful action is what puts the life into grateful living,” writes Kristi Nelson. Moved by the consideration of the blessings in your life, how are you called to serve others? Is there a neighbor who may be alone this holiday who would benefit from a home-cooked meal or piece of delicious pie delivered to their door? Is there an organization whose essential work could be enhanced by your contribution of time or treasure? How will your Thanksgiving week be made richer by serving others from a place of gratefulness?
o Learn anew about Thanksgiving. While this holiday can feel celebratory for many, its inaccurate historical accounts of Native Americans can perpetuate ongoing harm and racism when left unaddressed. Acknowledging the presence of both pleasure and deep pain on this day, we invite you to explore the following resources. These offer the opportunity to redefine Thanksgiving and to actively change the way we celebrate, give thanks, honor the land, and cultivate communities of belonging — today and every day.

I found this message to be very helpful in explaining benefits, behaviors, and physical reactions of our bodies to the behaviors and intentions that reflect kindness. Much wisdom in a short article. With light, Judy

The Art of Kindness…
Kindness is more than behavior. The art of kindness means harboring a spirit of helpfulness, as well as being generous, considerate, and doing so without expecting anything in return. Kindness is a quality of being. The act of giving kindness often is simple, free, positive and healthy. Kindness is…
Good for the body - Kindness has been shown to increase self-esteem, empathy and compassion, and improve mood. It can decrease blood pressure and cortisol, a stress hormone, which directly impacts stress levels. People who give of themselves in a balanced way also tend to e healthier and live longer. Kindness can increase your sense of connectivity with others, which can directly impact loneliness, improve low mood and enhance relationships in general. It also can be contagious. Looking for ways to show kindness can give youa focus activity, especially if you tend to be anxious or stressed in some social situations.
Good for the mind - Physiologically, kindness can positively change your brain. Being kind boosts serotonin and dopamine, which are neurotransmitter in the brain that give you feelings of satisfaction and well-being, and cause the pleasure/reward centers in your brain to light up. Endorphins, which are your body’s natural pain killer, also can be released. Discover ways you can create happiness.
Be kind to yourself It is not just how you treat other people — it is how you extend those same behaviors and intentions to yourself as well. I believe you can be kinder in your own self-talk and practice gratitude. People are good at verbally beating themselves up, and rarely does that work as a pep talk. Rather, negativity often causes you to unravel and may even create a vicious cycle of regularly getting down on yourself. You wouldn't talk to your neighbor the way you sometimes talk to yourself. This is what I call the “good neighbor policy,” which can be helpful. If you would not say it to your good neighbor, do not say it about yourself.
Take action Simply asking "How am I going to practice kindness today?" can be helpful. For a homework assignment, I have invited some clients to pay attention and periodically document during the day their evidence of kindness to others and especially to themselves. This positive focus is like planting positive seeds in your mind garden. Where focus goes, energy flows. I recently was talking about kindness to a young client who asked if I wanted them to get on the ark. I asked what that meant. The client said, "Acts of random kindness." That was a great response from a young person. How about you? Are you willing to get on the ark?

Finally, I'd like to leave you with this quote: "Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible." —Dalai Lama Steve Siegle is a licensed professional counselor in Behavioral Health

Thought this was worthwhile passing along...
November is the time we focus on giving thanks. Appreciation is a skill well worth developing. It is the key to our abundance in life. It involves a focus with all your senses on what makes you feel good. Just saying "I'm thankful for that apple pie." is not appreciation unless you embrace the love for that pie with all your being.
Appreciation is smelling that pie baking and closing your eyes and feeling the bliss within you of the smell. Appreciation is a form of love we feel in every cell of our being. And when we practice experiencing things around us with that love emotion it draws more of the wonderful things of life to us. Practice it in the shower (how wonderful that warm water feels on the skin), practice it with that bouquet of flowers (how fragrant their esssence), practice it with every penny you receive, practice it with your friends and loved ones. Prosperity Tip

Do you know that when you feel a particular feeling over and over again, that your body makes more and more receptor sites for the chemical associated with that feeling? That results in the body making more and more of the chemical associated with that feeling. So you end up feeling the same way over and over again. This is how we get ourselves into emotional ruts!

When you notice yourself going into one of those ruts, reach for a better thought. It doesn’t need to be true yet. Just thinking and feeling it will bring it into existence. Keep reaching for better thoughts. That will encourage your body to make positive feeling receptor sites and chemicals. The more often you feel positive emotions, the more easily and quickly prosperity will flow to you
easily and quickly. With light, Judy

…Scientist says wellness therapies are sweeping the world because they work By Alice Hinds October 20, 2021, 12:04 am
Meditation has been part of Eastern culture for centuries and, after initial scepticism in the West, has been proven to bolster calm and wellbeing. From meditation and Reiki to crystal healing and breathwork, the booming popularity of alternative therapies has seen the value of the wellness industry swell to an estimated £12.4 billion in the UK alone as we rush to adopt what were once derided as “woo woo” treatments.
According to recent research from Barclays, Covid has rapidly increased the demand for wellness treatments and therapies and the market has the potential to grow even larger, as eight out of 10 people now rank health and wellbeing as “extremely important” to their daily lives post-lockdown. The rise in wellness techniques, many of which, like meditation, have been part of Eastern culture for centuries, has arguably been influenced by celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow, whose own wellness brand, Goop, is now worth an estimated £180 million.
Yet, despite this increasing mainstream popularity, complementary treatments are still treated with suspicion by some academics, derision by others. That is something scientist David Hamilton wants to change. With a PhD in organic chemistry and experience working in the pharmaceutical industry, Hamilton has long been interested in the “mind-body connection”, and whether the power of thought can affect our health. Inspired by the power of the placebo effect, he left the industry to write books and educate people on how they can harness their mind and emotions to improve their health. He was also driven the experience of his own mum, who benefited from meditation after developing postnatal depression in the 1970s.
“Twenty years ago, I was a research and development scientist at AstraZeneca,” explained the Dunblane-based writer and columnist, who has penned 11 research-based books, including How Your Mind Can Heal Your Body. “At the time, when I mentioned meditation the word used was ‘quackery’. “We tend to say woo woo or pseudoscience now, but back then it was quackery. “Friends and colleagues didn’t meant any harm, and it was always jocular, but wider academia and science really did widely disregarded meditation and anything holistic. “There was nothing in it, science thought, yet I had watched first-hand how my mum benefited from meditation. “Although neither she nor I called it meditation back in the early 80s – it was just relaxation – she meditated using a guided tape every single night for years. “And I witnessed how that helped her. So, it felt really strange for me, in a research development environment, for people to refer to it as quackery.
“I began to research holistic therapies, and in my spare time look up scientific journals. “I was astonished to find that there was a heck of a lot of research looking at how meditation can calm the nervous system, even back then.” Now, times have changed and Hamilton says there is an ever-increasing body of evidence to suggest wellness practices can improve what he calls the body’s restorative setting and, perhaps surprisingly, even aid modern medicine. His years of research have culminated in a new book, Why Woo Woo Works: The Surprising Science Behind Meditation, Reiki, Crystals And Other Alternative Practices, which brings together research to show how wellness is more than just frivolous past-times. In the book, he starts by exploring the placebo effect, which can be understood as a vital part of why wellbeing practices can have tangible affects. He explained: “When I first proposed a possible mind-body connection, again, it was dismissed as quackery. “Yet the research already existed, even then, to show that when you take a placebo, for example, your brain produces its own version of what it needs to produce to meet your expectation. “So, in the context of pain, if someone takes a placebo, that they think is a paracetamol, the brain actually produces its own version of morphine, delivering a pain-killing result.
“Most of the time we call things woo woo simply because we don’t know that the science is available and we just don’t know about the available research on it. Using the term woo woo really just betrays our own ignorance about what science is actually available.”
Numerous studies have proven the benefit of calming the mind with meditation, so much so the NHS now even recommends complementary courses for people struggling with everything from anxiety to cancer treatment. Hamilton says we are wakening up to the fact that such alternative healing practices have the same “active ingredient” properties as western medicine. “We’ve become so focused on the single active ingredient over the last 100 years, in the West, that we’ve completely forgotten that other active ingredients can include nature, kindness, empathy, having plants in your room, taking a walk in nature, or having a holistic therapy treatment,” he said. “Essentially, anything that provides some degree of restoration. The East has been doing this in varying ways for thousands of years, but because we’ve become so convinced by the active ingredient, we think that anyone not doing that is, well, stupid or not intelligent.”
For those sceptical of the impact, he points to scientific research. He continued: “Even in GP surgeries, there’s research that suggests whether a doctor shows empathy or not can affect the patient’s healing. “A study in the UK saw 715 patients come into the doctor’s surgery with symptoms of the common cold, and they were asked afterwards to give a rating from 0 to 10 on how much empathy the doctor showed. “When doctors scored 10 out of 10 for empathy, the patients recovered 50% faster than everybody else, and their immune response was almost 50% higher.
“Another study, one of my favourites, looked at 179 prostate cancer patients. When they scored their doctor high on empathy, even three months later they had higher levels of natural killer cells – a very important immune cell – than people whose doctor showed less empathy. “Empathy puts the body into a restorative feeling, so the body begins to calm itself. “With the focus on the active ingredient, we forget that how you communicate actually matters as well – and that’s something that you hear in the East, but we have ignored in the West.”
Wellness expert, David Hamilton PHD… outlines in his book, in the USA the top 15 academic hospitals, including Duke, Yale and Johns Hopkins, now offer reiki, Therapeutic Touch (TT), Chinese herbal therapy, massage, homeopathy, hypnotherapy, meditation, yoga, aromatherapy, art therapy, acupuncture, biofeedback alongside other complementary and traditional therapies. A survey by the American Hospital Association found that 85% of hospitals offering holistic therapies did so due to patient demand – and, with results speaking for themselves, we now have the perfect opportunity to create a balance between the two areas of expertise.
He added: “There’s so much polarity, and even today lot of people in the mainstream still think it’s all woo woo or pseudoscience, while there’s a lot of people who, while fully immersed in holistic, reject all mainstream. “But there’s a big area in the middle and I think the future is actually a fusion of both – taking the best of the West, and the best of all the rest.”
