❤️❤️🙌🏻🙌🏻 I share this bc it’s important.

Is this you: You step on the scale and either feel excited or frustrated and it affects your whole day and maybe even your week. Are you using the scale to tell you whether or not what you are doing is working? That you are succeeding or failing in your goals?

For the past one month, I have been focusing on fat loss. As you can see from the next slide, my weight has been all over the place. It went up for a few weeks and only now, 4 weeks later, is it down below my starting point. The entire month, I was getting leaner, seeing and feeling changes to my body fat, and could see changes in my progress photos. My weight did not reflect ANY of that!!!!
Why??

-water fluctuations (due to sodium and water intake)
-muscle soreness from lifting/weight training (soreness causes swelling and inflammation/water retention that will easily make the scale go up by 2-5 lbs in a day!! Esp after a leg or back day.
-muscle growth: especially if you are focusing on lifting hard and eating adequate protein. Sometimes the amount of fat lost can weigh the same as muscle built (bc muscle weighs more than fat) and can make the scale stay the same.
-extra food in the bowels after a cheat meal/Refeed day or if you are experiencing constipation. The increase on the scale is literally food in the bowels and not fat.

Today I hit a new prep low on my weight after over a month of prep. The scale will eventually reflect the changes happening, but it can take time and it’s important to keep perspective and stay consistent rather than getting frustrated or giving up! If you give up, then you lose anyway!

Stay consistent, trust the process, put your head down and keep going!! Having a COACH is sooooo helpful in keeping this perspective and knowledge if you aren’t experienced in this process!

For those of you that are interested I have been doing Tic Toks. I go by txheartdoc but I’ve introduced myself.

Tonight at 7:15 pm central Dr. V Goswami, a cardiologist in Austin Texas is coming and we’re going to do sort of a question answer.

His expertise is in preventive cardiology specifically around imaging calcium scoring etc. He’s also I believe boarded in lipid management. Is young articulate physician- i’m just the old guy that asks the questions 🙂

It’s going to be non-Covid because there’s just too much of that and it becomes very negative.

I will ask him to discuss the various forms of diet and his thoughts definitely on keto etc. and you can certainly type in and will try to answer as many questions as possible. .

He refers people to published studies so you can look and make your own conclusion.

It’s been a lot of fun anyway for me and if you have a moment please log on
