Hey you! Yes, YOU! I see you. Even though I might not always be here. Sometimes, I need a Facebook fast. Sometimes the need to stay very present in each moment of my life with the people that are present in it becomes such a thirst that needs quenching! The need to just be present in the moment…in space and time in my own frequency.
But I see you. Every shiny part of you and every murky and muddled part, too. That’s all of us. We’re all perfect souls living in imperfect physical bodies, with imperfect minds and thoughts and feelings and doing our best to navigate…to be better than yesterday’s version of ourselves.
I absolutely love this journey. The soul’s evolution. And I’m here and I walk it with you every single day. We’re not different, my friends. You and me. We just have what appears to be different experiences and different lives and different looks, but make no mistake about it. We are woven from the same. The lessons we learn are ultimately all the same.
Isn’t it amazing? The journey? The ride? I freaking love it.
I love the smooth sailing. I love the turbulence. I love the unpredictable and the intuitive knowing.
The teetering balance is all part of this mind blowing process and progress. Just roll with it, friends. I promise it will all make sense. Love always. ❤️

Happy day, my friends!

We've all experienced times in our life when we go into survival mode. It's a wonderful instinct that we all possess and it keeps us out of danger and keeps us safe.

But then we should have a period where we sort of self regulate and go back to living our lives once we feel safe and secure again. But this isn't always true for everyone. Some people stay in survival mode for so long it becomes their way of life, and living in this condition for too long will breakdown a person mentally, physically and spiritually.

So I ask you, are you thriving or merely surviving?

The difference between surviving and thriving is surviving means you are continuously moving away from what you don't want and what you don't like in your life. Every time you successfully move away from these things you feel a sense of relief. You may even interpret that relief as joy and happiness. You've successfully escaped, for the time being, something that you see as a threat or a harm to you. Until the next thing.

Thriving means you are actively moving towards things you enjoy and want in your life. Every time you engage in what you want and enjoy, you feel satisfaction, motivation, and fulfillment. This is, in short, the art of living.

So I ask you, do you spend more time moving away from and trying to escape aspects of your life than you do moving towards the things you do want and enjoy?

If so, it's time to reorient yourself. Where are you at in your life right now vs where you want to be?
What needs to happen to get you from here to there?

Life in survival mode is not a very enjoyable ride. If this is you, spend some time thinking about what is working in your life, what you'd like to have but currently don't have, what you want and actually do have, and what you can do and create to bring you closer to where you want to be.

To thrive is to truly be alive. It's your birthright.
Don't mistake the feeling of surviving with living.
It's time to reorient yourself and start moving towards the life you deserve!

What’s the Problem, Peeps?

A problem is really only a problem until there is a solution. And there’s almost always a solution (unless we’re talking ignorance, which is too lengthy a discussion for this post).

To get closer to your resolution, it helps to look at the perceived problem from a different perspective, or to reframe it. So, how do you do that?

Try following these steps and see if it helps. I find writing them down and being able to see it on paper helps tremendously. It also helps to deflate the problem a bit before any steps are taken.

5 Steps to Reframe a Problem

1. Identify the problem

2. List circumstances around the problem that are beyond your control (and then let that s**t go!)

3. List whatever surrounds this problem that is within your control.
Spend some time here. This is where you empower yourself!

4. What positive and helpful thoughts, feelings, and behaviors surrounding this problem can you implement or practice? This too is within your control.

5. Can you identify any positive learnings around the situation? Is there is a bright side?
Look for it, it’s ALWAYS there!
Learn to practice this. It will benefit immensely if you learn to be an optimist.

Though short and sweet, reframing a problem can not only help you generate more options, but sometimes even help you to see it wasn’t that much of a problem after all.
Problems feel bigger when we don’t face them. As you practice being uncomfortable with a problem and spending some time with it and reframing it, you will build your skills at becoming more tolerant and managing stressors that inevitably will arise in life.
