Dignity Memorial LIFT® is a social support program that helps surviving spouses adjust to the loss of their partners. The program gives members the opportunity to socialize with others who share similar feelings and experiences. The Dignity Memorial LIFT program encourages members to invest emotional energy in fellowship with other members as well as in educational activities.

With a grateful heart I want to express my gratitude to Colleen Helfers and the Marengo-Union Chamber for their support this past year. A year ago this month, I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, and my world was turned upside down. As the Office Manager for Marengo – Union Funeral Home, I have the privilege of helping families during their most difficult times. The Mummies of Guanajuato, Mexico are a number of naturally mummified bodies interred during a cholera outbreak in 1833. The human bodies appear to have been disinterred between 1870 and 1958. During that time, a local tax was in place requiring a fee to be paid for "perpetual" burial. Some bodies for which the tax was not paid were disinterred and found in a perfectly and naturally mummified state.
