Not sure what to expect during a visitation? You’re not alone.

One question we hear often is whether families have to stand at the front of the room to greet everyone. The truth is, there’s no right or wrong way. Some families choose to stand and speak to each guest, while others prefer to sit comfortably and visit with friends and loved ones as they come by.

Every family is different, and we’re here to help you do what feels most natural for you.

Today on National Funeral Directors Recognition Day, we reflect on the funeral directors who set the precedent for care provided to families served by this funeral home.

In 1935, Mr. Woodrow Maddox received his Funeral Directing License and started serving the families of Jackson County and surrounding areas. Since then, funeral directors have continued the legacy he and Mrs. Dorothy Maddox started.

Today, five funeral directors, Chris, Dorothy, Lyndsey, Tommy and Ken, continue to provide the highest level of compassionate care to each and every family who walks through the doors of James & Sikes Funeral Home - Maddox Chapel.
