On this Veterans Day, November 11, we pause to honor the selfless courage of those who have served in our nation’s armed forces. Established in 1919 to commemorate the Armistice ending World War I, it now salutes all U.S. veterans—over 18 million strong— who embody duty, resilience, and sacrifice.
As President John F. Kennedy, a World War II veteran himself, observed: “The willingness of America’s Veterans to sacrifice for our country has earned them our lasting gratitude.”
