Gold and silver at the Albuquerque Open today! After driving through winding, icy, snowy roads and sleeping like absolute garbage last night, I had my best showing at a Jiu jitsu tournament of any kind!

I won gold in the Masters 4 medium heavy division with a 1st round submission and a tight 2-0 victory in the finals.

Then in the Masters 4 open class I won my first match 11-0, but lost a close finals 0-2 against my finals opponent that I defeated from earlier.

it was my first time winning three rounds in a single tournament (and came close in the 4th) and I felt great doing it despite such crazy circumstances getting here!

supports my crazy obsession in a way that makes me so grateful to be her husband and I am grateful I get to go through life with her at my side. And and have cultivated an ultra competitive Jiu jitsu academy that makes training exciting each and every day! And of course, the support of and on this trip have been amazing!
